You mean you don't think we really have any other competition, or you don't think we're pushing for him? I don't know if I've even really heard for sure whether or not we're recruiting him hard. He doesn't talk to the media so all the normal channels of information are just kinda not there.

What about a team like LSU? I'm really racking my brain hard right now and the only other team I can think of is Michigan, who I doubt he even considers for a number of reasons. Although they did visit him and I wonder if they did so for the sole purpose of neg recruiting us...

its a matter of time my friend

On the Bill King show this morning, JC Schurbert (sp?) said he has heard that Indiana is no longer a possibility and said that ND is the leader right now. But he also mentioned that LSU and Michigan are tying to make a push. Nothing to earth shattering there, but with him not going to Bama this weekend, I think it is a three horse race and one horse has an 8 length lead.

I would delete this post because you used a hash tag. This isn't twitter bro.

PS: If Kiel goes to Michigan I am just going to off myself.

If he went to Michigan I would be utterly shocked and it would an amazing feet of BS and negative recruiting because they have Shane Morris coming in next year and it makes no sense for him to go there over Notre Dame. This is clearly Michigan just trying to play keep away.

LSU makes some sense if he doesn't care about staying close to home or getting a good education. Two things that, in the few interviews he's done, he has said he is focused on. So I could see it happening, but would also be surprised if it did happen.

If someone googles gestapo, it's not like this one hashtag is gonna trigger a return.

I use the term “keyword” with a grain of salt since some of the tags aren’t keywords in the sense that you know them related to search engine optimization, because some of the tags are completely non-sensical in nature. And although you can get a complete list of words that have been tagged on the site, there is no way (at least currently) to search for a specific tag.

And quit calling me bro. I hate that word. I'm The Dude, so that's what you call me. You know, that or ah his Dudeness, or uh Duder or uh El Duderino if you're not into that whole brevity thing.

If ND is his favorite, he's obviously not afraid of competition. He would be going against Rees, Hendrix, and Golson here, while he would only be going against Gardner and Morris at UM.

I prefer El Duderino.

None of the above have proven to be 'great' competition. One hasn't seen the field, one has never started and the other is a TO machine against any good team and doesn't fit the system. Not ripping on any of our QBs, but if I'm a 5-star I'm not terribly afraid of the competition listed above.

ND's QB depth chart looks much less intimidating now than it did when Kiel committed to IU.

If you're the #1 QB in your class, you shouldn't be afraid of competition unless Tom Brady is on this roster.

That might be true against any one QB, but numbers must play a factor.

Pre-season, Dayne seemed likely to be our #1 through 2012 (he was even getting some darkhorse Heisman buzz). Rees was the experienced backup, and Hendrix and Golson the talented unknowns. Kiel would have stepped onto campus as the 5th QB in that situation.

Today, a 5th year for Dayne looks very unlikely, and Tommy's physical limitations and penchant for TOs are clearly holding what appears to be an otherwise great team back. In other words, the playing field looks more level now.

Kiel must feel much more confident pitting his 5:s:s against the inexperienced Golson and Hendrix now that Crist and Rees are clearly not the future of the program.

Troll?

Gardner and Morris were both top 5 4:s:/5:s: QBs and have tons of eligibility left. Rees, Golson, and Hendrix were all much more lowly rated. There is no way you can say ND's QB situation would be more competitive for him than trying to beat out another #1 QB in Shane Morris and Devin Gardner who will have a headstart on him.

If he ends up at Michigan, that means Hoke is a master recruiter who pulled the wool over his eyes on what the QB situation will look like in 2013. You'll have two top 5 QBs to compete with versus two "eh" guys.

Denard will be there in 2012 as well.

wtf? how am I a troll? Someone said they would be shocked if he went to Michigan. I wouldn't be that surprised because he would pretty much just be competing with Morris (Gardner's not a great pro-style qb). Obviously, I would hate for that to happen but it's a possibility, while due to sheer numbers, he would have harder competition at ND.

Robinson will be back next year, Gardner has looked very good and was a big time recruit, and Morris might be next year's class' best QB. How is that comparable to competing against Rees, Golson and Hendrix? If you take off those green-tinted glasses, you might see that our QB situation is not as good as scUm's. It sucks, but it's true.

Rees's - That's a cool clip. It's the first time I have seen that one. Is it just a coincidence that our qb's lose that ball and watch as the other team returns it for a td? lol.

This is what was said: "If he went to Michigan I would be utterly shocked and it would an amazing feet of BS and negative recruiting because they have Shane Morris coming in next year and it makes no sense for him to go there over Notre Dame. I responded that he's not afraid of competition and stated that he'd have to pass 3 qb's on our roster. I realize they're not as good as Denard, Gardner, and Morris, but that's not the point. And if I was looking through green-tinted glasses, how would that make me a troll? If Gunner came to ND, I would be happy, but if he doesn't ascend to #1 on the depth chart, he would probably be redshirted. As the #1 QB in his class, he might not like that. Also, if he ascends to #1, we'd probably never be able to see what Everett can do in this offense. Whatever, I don't care, this is why I try not to comment in recruiting threads. Just wanted to clarify that I am most certainly not a troll.
