Couldn't pay me enough money to stick something into my arm. But you are so right man, that's awesome you do that.

Do you have any ides how many IV heroin users have said that exact same thing? Most folks don't start off with mainlining.

It's very internally rewarding, for sure.

Once you hit this stage it is beyond bad. Between riding on the Ambulance and dispatching (911) i have had probably 100 heroin overdoses just this year alone. It is drug that has no bounds white, black, rich and poor. The worse part is having their family finding them it hard to hear that emotion.

I don't know what the answer is but what they are doing here locally isn't working. But the heath depts giving out narcan is a extremely bad idea. A lot of our police officers carry it so if they are closer to the call then the Ambo they can hit them with it. But I personally think that the health depts are give false impressions. 1. You won't be able to overdose 1 once a week for a long period of time and take this and expect the same reaction. Your body will get use to this. 2. Have you ever seen someone that you have given the whole does of Narcan? Talk about pissed off. 10ft and bullet proof is the best way to describe that. So they may not willing me to hurt you but they probably will.

We have Narcan in our office for emergencies. It'd never had to be used.
I actually haven't ever seen anyone get dosed with it.

No man I completely see what you are saying. I'm just saying for me no way, I scream like a 4 year old every time I get a shot. Needles freak me out

GB, trust me. It is a different mentality. --- A whole different reality!

For someone who gets to craving the dragon it is far outside of what you or I could imagine.

I don't want to speak for these guys with a lot more experience and knowledge, but I think that is what they are trying to say.

Maybe this will help. You or I cannot crave the dragon, now. Yet. We would have to take a bit of a journey first.

Some who use scientific terminology would call it 'Incentive-Sensitization Theory.'

In other words, until certain biopsychological transformations have occurred, you can't really experience the overpowering craving that a severe addict feels.

It isn't as much as 'pleasure from using' as it is 'unquenchable agony from absence.'

So how does one develop this craving? A number of components contribute. But the constant is use. Use of lesser drugs, lesser amounts, even in controlled amounts under supervision. Everyone is different, different psychological and physiological makeups.

Some people it takes next to nothing. For others it may take lethal amounts and dosages before anything would begin to happen. Therefore, some may experience it after relatively minor experimentation, others may never experience it, because if they cross the threshold, it is already too late. Those that worry about greater use of more powerful narcotics have the right idea. They move you faster and more surely down the slope than other mundane possibilities.

But sooner or later the basic function of your central nervous system changes, like it does with smokers. And if you remain alive long enough for that to happen, recreation rapidly becomes survival. And you crave the dragon.

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised I haven't seen one comment about being a druggie/junkie in this thread yet. Well done gents.

Wants to transfer to work with a certain coach? Given how well the backup did at Cincy, he's probably transferring where there would be little competition for the starters position. Hard to impress scouts if you don't play.

Best of luck to the kid. He has some issues to resolve.

That article was pretty speculative. Not saying this doesn't happen, but they sure didn't have a lot of facts to back it up.

A Cleveland blogger for Rant Sports sent the UC twitter world into a bit of a tizzy tonight. Here are the tweets that he sent out, little to no evidence, likely has no sources, basically just assuming;

I've seen mock drafts with him in the 4-5th round area, wonder if just decides to go pro.

The only reason this makes sense is if he's looking for a change of scenery to help get away from his issues (the fact that his former o-coordinator is at UK is a bonus).

Even then, everybody around UK says that it's Barker's time to lead the charge, which is why Towles transferred to BC... and Towles was the embattled incumbent, just like Gunner is at UC.

So unless Eddie Gran got stoops to promise that Kiel will be the starter without a doubt, I would be shocked if this happens.

"Transferring though would be ANOTHER move. Indiana, LSU, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Kentucky. How many schools can one kid be a part of in a short 4 year college career? It’s insanity."

Well I have nothing to add.

All I have to say is it seems like Les hit the nail right on the head.

I don't buy this story.. Seems like the blogger is just trying to make an educated guess so he can say he "broke the story".. It is way more likely Gunner just goes pro and gets drafted in 5th round

What team is wasting a 5th round pick on him considering his flaky history and apparent current issue(s)?

He still has 5 star tools and at times was extremely productive at Cinci... In 5th round you aren't drafting a starting Qb... You are picking a guy you can develop and with soooooo much terrible QB play in the NFL this year, someone takes a shot at someone with that talent

So does Jimmy C.

In my opinion, Kiel's a good QB [and always has been.] There were parts of the 2015 season when defenses had to focus entirely on him and the TV commentators were raving. Then he started getting blasted by bad OLine play and got injured. My brother, an ex-cincy lineman, was/is quite happy with Kiel.

One thing that I recall dimly is that Tuperville is not the easiest of persons to get along with. I'll assume that a). he stays at Cincy and easily starts in 2016; or b). he leaves for a reason, coaching-wise, having nothing to do with fearing QB competition and not known to anyone here on IE.

Yup, Tubberville had a presser to introduce new coaches on Sunday morning, where he also announced that Gunner had returned to school and the team.

Hopefully he's worked out his issues and is truly good to go.

Tuberville: UC QB job is wide open

Q: What is the status of Gunner Kiel and the quarterback situation? (NOTE: Fifth-year senior Kiel was the UC starter for most of 2014 and 2015, but he also has battled injuries. Kiel also missed the 2015 Hawaii Bowl for undisclosed personal reasons. Kiel rejoined the team in January but missed the 2016 spring game with shoulder problems. Sophomore Hayden Moore filled in for Kiel several times last year, and redshirt freshman Ross Trail also is in the mix).

A: Gunner didn’t practice but about three or four days and hurt his shoulder (in spring). Coming out of camp, I’d say Hayden is No. 1, Ross is No. 2 and Gunner is No. 3, but that’s just because he didn’t practice. They’ll all basically start out even-up, as we always do. We’ll pick somebody and go with them.

Q: If Kiel is healthy, is the job still his?

A: He’s doing good, but the main thing is he’s got to stay healthy. I think we have three guys that can get the job done. We have a new quarterback coach and offensive coordinator (Zac Taylor). With a little bit of a new offense, I think that makes it an equalizer. (NOTE: Former UC offensive coordinator Eddie Gran left for the same job at Kentucky).

As a UC fan, I'd rather see Moore get the job with Trail as primary backup in garbage time/spot duty to get some developmental reps.

Kiel should be 3rd string. The only way Kiel should play, IMO, is if Moore gets hurt and the team needs a long-term answer.

I can't believe he is a 5th year senior already. It seems like last season he was ND. Man time flies.

This many pages and did he even take a snap at ND? I joined after all this Kiel nonsense, but i'm sure it was 146 pages of purely rational level headed discussion

The way this kid handled his recruitment and then transferred right away from ND, I knew he was never going to amount to anything as a football player. He has/had a ton of talent but I just don't understand the decisions he made. When Golson got suspended, he could have had a chance to play but we had to settle for Tommy Rees instead.... I wonder how he felt about that?
