As Mark Twain said, "it's better to keep your mouth closed and be thought the idiot, than to open it and remove all doubt"

The negative posters should keep that in mind.

Godspeed and good health Tee, I know I'll be praying for your good health.

I feel badly for this young man, especially if this is a heart condition. Regardless of what his future holds, I wish him the best in his endeavors in which I hope leads him back to ND, and I hope he gets the medical attention that he requires.

Good luck, Tee!!

I agree, except to say that if this is about a heart condition, I'm not sure why he would drop out of school. Part of the appeal of ND is that if you run into an issue that ends your football career, you still have a degree from an elite university to fall back on. That is the part that confuses me.

Perhaps the "minor" heart issue was that his "heart" simply wasn't up to putting in the work necessary to being a student here. It's the only explanation I can think of for him to leave school at this point. I'm with the II guys on this one.

Maybe it's grades. Maybe it's his health. Or homesickness. Or something else entirely. We really have no idea, do we?
I agree it's frustrating to apparently have lost yet another elite recruit. But I don't understand why we'd all sit here talking **** about this young man, who generally has seemed to be a class act throughout a long and bizarre recruiting season. And who could quite possibly still be wearing blue and gold on Labor Day weekend.
Why not just wish him well, hope he finds a way back, and, if not, Godspeed in life to Mr. Shepard. Is that so hard?

Its not. And i do wish him well. Even if this was totally unjustifiable and he royally screwed up, I'd wish him well. I'm not even saying he screwed up because I don't know all the details, but I am saying that I think he made a mistake, no matter the details.

Per the NCAA
Only new student-athletes are required to have a full medical exam. Returning players are required to complete an updated medical history that may lead to further evaluation.

ND requires physicals and complete med history by ND Medical Staff for all entering freshman and transfers. "Try out" candidates utilize their personal physician using an ND history and physical exam form. These histories and physicals must on file before commencing any activity in or on a Notre Dame athletic facility or field.

UND also covers Second Medical Opinions. See the above document.

I don't know the true story but if it has to do with his heart. I would say California may have better heart doctors than South Bend, Indiana. (no facts just speculation)

I'm just sayin'. I would want the absolute best help I could get. My life is more important than some football game.

i just don't undestand how if it is just minor the don't catch it. An EKG should catch it and that doesn't the 12 lead should. These are both on the heart moniter for the ones that don't now. Our school district that i played high sports for reqiured you to have a it done.

Kelly should have read the TEE leaves better.

Mooohahahaha....

Humour is the only way I can respond to the crazy world of 17-18 year old kids.

My younger brother is that age... and he's a boat without a rudder. Even with guidance and direction from those around him.

If Tee has health issues though... I wish him well. Heavy burden for a kid.

It's weird to see the statement that it was due to medical reasons but he is not considering returning to ND...

Well I hope he recovers from whatever it may be that is wrong. My only question here is why would he not return? Does ND not want him back, or does he not want to come back? That is still the big question....

Again I hope Tee gets better and he is healthy.

I agree. Apparently he is even thinking of juco'ing? Makes me wonder if this is like Armond Armstead -- we won't let him play for us but he thinks he can play somewhere. Just speculating though.

I've heard the heart and penis are connected by nervous tissue.

Any truth to that?

I feel so bad for Tee. What an crappy circumstance. I really hope he is OK.

I hope he doesn't have to go the JUCO route. I don't want to have to play against him at USC, but, if he can't return to ND, hopefully there is another school that will work out.

So he has a heart scope which is a minor surgery but important enough to be considered a medical issue..... Sounds like someone did their homework.....
