Well, I can't complain. He was never the same in games as he was in practice.

But D Kizer is going to have to play this year with the way Malik Z runs

Seriously, lets not play this game. He accounted for 3,728 yards of total offense and 37 tds. You can question his decision making but to act as if wasn't a darn good player is ridiculous. We've went over this at length and the people that I follow that know the most about football do not think this way.

I concur.

Lets not play the sour grapes game. This is a huge loss for the team. EG helped lead a team to 12-0 reg season and a championship game. And last year started the year in the Heisman race. Kid's a baller. He just had some struggles. Would've been huge having him back this year.

Everett Golson informed Brian Kelly Thursday morning that he is transferring out of Notre Dame. Golson explained his decision to FOX Sports Thursday in a statement.
"After much thought, prayer and discussion with my family, I have decided that it is in my best interest to graduate from Notre Dame and transfer to another school effectively immediately," Golson said. "I would like to thank everyone at Notre Dame for the opportunity to compete at the highest level of college football, but most importantly to obtain my degree from one of the finest universities in the country. To all the Fighting Irish fans, I want to thank you for your support over the past four years and let you know I truly love Notre Dame. To my former teammates, who I will miss tremendously, I wish much success in the future and will be your biggest fan from afar.
"I will have no future comment at this time and ask that you respect my time as I figure out this live changing moment. God has a plan for each of us and I ask for your prayers as I move forward in this new journey in my life."
The 6-foot, 200-pound senior, just took his last final and is set to graduate from ND. He will be eligible to play in 2015.
In 2012, Golson, a fleet-footed Myrtle Beach native with a very strong arm, helped lead the Irish to the BCS national title game. Golson, though, had to leave school for the 2013 season while serving an academic suspension before returning to South Bend to win back his starting job. Golson got off to a strong start in the first month of the season, but while injuries rocked the Irish, he also struggled with some turnovers and a team that had been in the top 10 ended up 7-5 in the regular season.
Golson's backup, junior Malik Zaire, started -- and won -- ND's bowl game, beating LSU and earning Music City Bowl MVP honors. Golson did play some in that game, going 6-of-11 for 90 yards.
In his career in South Bend he has thrown 41 TD passes and just 20 INTs and passed for almost 6,000 yards. In 2014, Golson did have a solid 29-14 TD-INT ratio while throwing for 3,445 yards and completing 60 percent of his passes. He also has run for 14 TDs and almost 600 more yards in his career.

Probably less concerned than I should be.

Regardless, good luck to him.

This is pretty much where I'm at.

If Malik is inaccurate in the 1st half against Texas you better believe we're all going to be losing our collective shit.

Nah, the first half we'll be pounding the rock, so inaccuracy won't matter.

Then, in the second half, it's going to be play action to Fuller all the live-long day.

Booyah.

I wish him the best but I am happy he is leaving. I think a team needs one clear leader on offense and Malik is the guy.

Wait, is this total left field for anyone else?? After all this kid went through to get back,... my first reaction is this has to be another academic thing or he got passed by MZ and threw his hands up... idk, this caught me way off guard. It does amaze me how ND just can not go through an offseason without some kind of major drama anymore tho... wow

Good luck to him. He graduated and handled the situation with grace. I wish him all the best and he'll always be a Domer in my book.

It's actually win-win for EG. He gets his degree from ND and now gets to play out a fifth year at a football-first kind of school where he can focus on getting into the NFL and not worry about his studies.

I wish him the best in his future......I've rooted for him, and bitched about him, but will continue to root for him, like he is still a Fighting Irish. Good luck, EG!!

I wouldn't call this "drama". They were in a QB Battle. How did this catch you off guard? lol

Right, there is no way this is a positive. We're losing an experience and electric talent that is head and shoulders better than the #3. I've always believed Zaire could get the job done but what happens if he can't.

UHND should be better than that. Totally classless in my opinion. I hope they get heat for that.
