His turnovers are killing the team. His fumbles this past game are just not acceptable. Guess we all just have to live with it.

It's painful to switch qbs during a season, but turnovers at this rate is unacceptable period.

Zaire ....next man in!

Me thinks, Golson could have ironed this out during last season.

This is really just his second season starting guys.

A year hiatus, with which would have fine tuned him greatly.

This was my fear coming into the season- that whatever growing pains Golson would have gone through in '13 will have to happen now. Unfortunately it is what it is. The good thing is this team will be primed for a playoff run next year if he progresses as he should between now and then.

I cringed when the announcers complimented Golson for switching the ball to his left hand on a run. Yes he did switch hands, which I guess is good, but the entire run he was cupping the ball with his wrist and forearm like he was a Julius Erving going in for a highlight windmill dunk.

The basketball analogy is interesting, because Golson played point guard for his high school. Exceptionally strong hands, he does hold a football as if he is palming a basketball.

I understand EG is a RS Sophmore field experience wise but I thought Tommy Rees was the reason we took a step back in 2013. I am tired of talking talent. I want winners! I liked the days when we didn't gasp every time the ball was thrown or the QB left the pocket. He played better in 2012 as a managing QB. He knows he has a problem so why isn't his focus 100% on fixing it?! He did good against FSU after UNC but then played one of his worst games 2 games later...

Find a way to fix the problem or find a new solution (Zaire)

If the defense was as good as 2012 we would be undefeated. Why aren't you calling for Diaco to come back too?

Has Golson hit a deep ball where the ball lands in the recievers hand in stride? I have not seen every play, but probably 95% of them and I can not remember a deep ball yet throw perfect. I mean every time they have to wait for the ball, costing many touchdowns. Put Malik in, he can do no worse.

Mostly due to the fact that he's late on the throw so ends up under throwing him.

However, I assume that 48 yard pass to Fuller is why you've decided to post ^^, do know that Golson had some strong winds against the throw.

Food for thought.

I'm tired of watching one single player having such an impact on destroying each game. If I was Malik I would transfer.

I hate to say it...but I agree....

I'm such a fan of EG and his story and positive attitude, but I think he is maxed on his potential and his impact in games swings waaaayyyyy too much to the negative.... MZ's turn needs to come, better now to get some live action, meaningful reps.... If BK wants to stick with EG, that's ok, and i'll support it as an ND fan....but if I'm MZ, I'm thinking Sumlin at A&M would appreciate a mobile, big, tough QB....So would Miles at LSU.....

Golson threw at least two TD passes for the 11th game in a row and the 14th time in his career.

Golson now has 41 career TD passes, tying Rick Mirer for fifth in ND history. Golson's done it in less than 2 seasons while Mirer played 4. Mirer had 23 INTs on 698 passes 3.30 INT%. Golson has 19 on 716, 2.65 INT%

Golson remained 3rd in the nation for Mosts Points Responsible with 224..

I have major concerns about him seeing over the field. All of a sudden, he is not tall enough.

Ben Koyack last night, a good option. He doesn't see him unless he is on the seem...

never seen such defeat in a QB's eyes.

even the prayer he threw that fuller saved his ass, looked like to me that he just said i don't give a shit i'm throwing this.

Let's get a revised turnover percentage that includes fumbles lost.

We all knew Golson would be named the starter this year even when Kelly said it was a competition with Zaire. Is it guaranteed he is the starter again next year?

One of the Chicago guys perfectly summed it up yesterday, "The Lakers have the Black Mamba, the Irish have Black Cutler". Firestone DBA through the nostrils isn't as bad as you'd think.

They should seriously subtract the points that he has given the other team.

I didn't get to watch Saturday but with all the talk of EG and BK seeming to be at odds, this thought came to me.

Will EG graduate by the end of the year? Since next year is a fifth year for him, is he eligible to go play somewhere else immediately?

This isn't my preference, I still think he is the best option at QB, but if he is feeling the pressure or if his relationship with BK isn't so great, this may come into play.

There is a zero percent chance of this happening short of:
1. Golson running afoul of something or otherwise being incapable of returning to ND for a 5th year.
2. Zaire beating him out in spring ball.

Both seems like incredibly long shots.

What evidence is there that they're at odds? We've seen BK bench players in his "doghouse" before, so why wouldn't that apply to the quarterback?
