Glad to see them having some fun with the situation.

I'd much rather see them having fun on the field. Hopefully, DD puts his head down, drives on, and does what is necessary to get back on the field next season.

DD just posted a pic taken of him during a game against a big 10 opponent. Looks like he still has all of his ND info up as well. Don't think that will change. Kid is coming back.

Would love it if he came back, he is our best WR, no debate, and would be hungry as hell to prove things to NFL. Not to mention Everetts go to guy.

Golson (and this offense) has benefited from not having a "go-to" guy. I'm not sure his addition is a net positive. Whose snaps are going to be taken away? Fuller? Robinson? Will Hunter ever be allowed to get into a rhythm? Would love to see where Brent is next year. Just food for thought. If he makes us a better team then I'm all for it. But does he make us a better team?

I see where you're coming from and the lack of a "go to" has allowed Golson to learn his progressions better, but I'm in the camp of having a "go to" guy. When you play against the better teams a lot of your weapons are shutdown or nullified. You need a proven "go to" guy that can make plays against the better competition.

part of playing with a go-to guy is coaching, and discipline. if EG is going to continue his development, he has to know when to say when.

Interesting. BK said in the press conference yesterday that the team was better for having both AC and CJS. Not just one, even at their best.

Chemistry is the start of everything.

If Golson hasn't learned by his 3rd year starting not to lock on to one receiver, then we are in trouble. I'm sure if DD isn't back, he'll have a new 'favorite' by then. A full year working with all of the WR's and they'll all return.

“I’ve changed my mind at least six times so far, and it’s still going,” he said. “I’ve still got a while before I’ve got to decide anything, so I’m not trying to rush.”

Daniels added that he would make a decision regarding his plans for next season “probably by January.”

I know this is going to Sound Bad but this isn't a position of need really. Move along now.

I think it is if we want to win big in 2015. Outside of Fuller, none of our WRs scare anybody. Robinson runs a 4.8, CJ is OK at everything, Amir's doing nothing, Tori Hunter's doing nothing. And everyone of them has questionable hands besides Robinson.

All while passing 40+ times.

I agree, if he wants to come great if not I won't lose sleep over it. Fuller is just starting to turn it on right now he is a top 10 maybe top 5 WR in the nation. Robinson is dangerous as well but we tend to shy away from him sometimes. Carlisle will be back, Prosise shows flashes of being good. Brown has under performed this year but is still an asset. Hunter Jr. I believe has missed one catch if any thrown to him this year which is like 5/6. We haven't even seen what Corey Holmes or Brent can do yet both can be break out players next year. Out of the guys who are committs I think Boykin Redshirts, Guyton is 50/50, C.J. Sanders will play kid is a stud.

This! Fuller needs a compliment out there to make the duo much more difficult to cover. Playoffs or bust next year and Daniels could play a major role in that.

IMO, you guys are seriously over valueing our receivers.

Agree, my view from the stands on Saturday didn't lead me to believe we have great WRs (I do love Fuller). There should be a noticeable difference in talent when we're playing a team like Northwestern. Looked like a pretty even matchup to me. That's the depressing part.

I might agree with you for once, but I think this is a general issue we run into each year. Year in and year out people gush over the recruits we get. People see good things on the horizon and expect improvements, and we have gotten better since Kelly came on board, but I think our recruiting is always overstated and it seems like we expect more out of future recruits despite the fact the classes they replace weren't slouches either. While there are improvements in training and diets over long term, these are human athletes and not robots that are upgraded like technology.

I think you are under estimating the impact of Golson not looking at the middle field consistently. All the players you mentioned operate in the middle of the field a good portion of the time and for whatever reason (height, scheme, progressions) Golson simply does not look at that part of the field. This issue is much bigger than having "talent".

They're both legit issues IMO, and I did mention Golson's sideline vision is being overlooked and it's not all on the WRs. But we still need better WRs if we're going to sling it 40 times a game. I promise you none of our WRs would scare any legit defense besides Fuller. And one legit threat (with OK hands) is not enough IMO.

FWIW, I specifically watched their separation in person this Saturday. And even though Golson ignores the middle a lot, our WRs are not separating from anyone, even on middle routes. And it was NW...

I agree.

And to add towards Koon's comment, CRob's value is not his speed (or lack thereof). It's his height and ball skills.

The WR group isn't necessarily elite, but it's not abysmal either. If it weren't for the enormous amount of turnovers, this offense would probably be averaging about 40 points a game. Clearly there are enough playmakers on that side of the ball. They just need to clean it up.

If DaVaris comes back, I will be delighted. If he doesn't, I'll wish him the best and lose no sleep over it. Our WRs are playing just fine, imo, and they will all be a year older and smarter and better next year.

I'd also like to add that ND was used to the dominate WR (singular) for a long time. These days, ND doesn't operate with one true 1st round talent at WR but instead a plethora of talented playmakers. IMO, that's more difficult for DCs to game plan against. So I'm not sure why you're so concerned with not having one WR that would scare any legit defense, when there are plenty of guys in that position group that can make plays. It doesn't have to be one go-to guy to be successful.
