Jalen Brown or Josh Atkinson will be guarding Lee or Woods or Stills.

We got this. We got Nix right? We put him out on press coverage. At the snap, he grabs Woods, sits on him, hard. Sure there may be a penalty or two, even three. After a while Woods isn't going to want any more of that. Who's the backup?

There is obviously no way to spin this as anything close to a good thing. It is a terrible thing, especially considering the reviews Lo was getting in camp.

But can we PLEASE just pause for one second and recognize that this doesn't end the season? Its a good thing the players on the team don't have the same attitude as we do here. This isn't a reason to give up. We aren't the first team to ever deal with an injury to a starter. In fact, it happens to just about every team every year. Somebody else gets the opportunity to step up now, just like Lo was positioned to do.

Bright side: Lo will hopefully make a full recovery next year, Atkinson and Brown will get much needed experience, and we'll have in a whole class of corners. Next year cornerback could be our strength!

Are either Jalen Brown or Eliar Hardy doing anything impressive in camp? Or are they underachieving. Both were legit recruits with speed, if I remember correctly. It'd be a bummer if Russel has already surpassed them.

Farley/Hardy/McCarthy better be ready to play some safety. Even if Atkinson/Brown/Russell is the no.2 corner, Slaughter definitely will need to take some reps there. And this also means someone else definitely needs to be ready to play Slaughter's star spot, because he can't play safety, corner and star all at once. This injury hurts in more ways than one (or two).

But most importantly, get well Lo.

Terrible for Lo, but Next Man In. Josh and Jalen have the ability, and they are going to have a trial by fire.

Shumate may end up being a 4 year starter... This is definitely not good news, but our CBs were a question mark anyway, so this doesnt really change my stance on the overall team. Still this one hurts, I was hoping Jackson and Wood would be SOLID CBs and make this defense scary good.
