Love the player and picked him up last year after the draft, on waiver wires. Looked like a genius then. Flash forward to this year and we are at a bar doing the draft and the Wi-Fi was terrible. Long story short, my computer freezes as I go to make my pick and it auto picks Eifert. Everyone knowing that I'm an incredible ND fan thought I did it on purpose and laughed at my stupidity. Again, love Eifert but super pissed he's on my fan ball team.

Zack is such a boss.

Morgan is also really smart and a great person, and great catch too. The Eifert's were that perfect family in high school, so her marrying Zach Martin doesn't surprise me in the least.

When he plays, he's a stud. Probably the 2nd best TE in the league. He just needs to stay healthy

To think he almost wasn't offered until working out to get one. Kid is a freak and agree that besides Gronk, best in the league

How often does he line up attached? Does he still line up in the slot and split too?

Don't watch much Sunday ball besides highlights during Bears games... as I self medicate in the background.

He is usually more lined up in the slot from what I have seen

When he's no longer on a snap count and the staff is confident that he's 100%, he'll be in-line as much as he's in the slot.

I'd say 50% of his red zone damage last year was from being off the line, and 50% was from a standard TE alignment. He's very underrated as a blocker, and the Bengals don't mind keeping him on the line to work with the big uglies when he's healthy.

And only got that workout because of John "Fair Catch" Goodman

Well fuck, that sucks! He's so good when he's healthy, what a blow. Hopefully he can come back and this is the last of his major injuries.

This has to be it for his career right? I'm not trying to pigeonhole him but he's routinely had bad injuries and this is just awful

Depends. If he never produced, yeah, I'd say his career is over. It may still be over, but when he's healthy he's a monster. If he wants to play I think someone will still take a chance.

He had back problems in HS, at ND, and in the NFL. He's also had an ankle and an elbow problem in the NFL. He's 28, young enough to recover if the current broken, right ankle injury is surgically correctable.

In 2015 he tore a ligament in hisleft ankle, the other foot. A completely different type of injury. It was originally thought it would heal through rehab without surgery but surgery was required.

Doesn't sound like it's career ending at this point. Have to see how the surgery and rehab goes.

If there’s no nerve damage, he’ll be back and catching TD’s next year. Probably not for Cincy, which sucks, but he’ll sign somewhere at a discount and play well.

And as crazy as it sounds, and (again) if there’s no nerve damage, the year in rehab for the ankle helps him get another year past his back issues, which might not be a bad thing.

Based on how Cincy luck goes in the sports world, he’ll end up at Pittsburgh next year, stay healthy for 16+ games, and catch 12 TD’s.

In all seriousness, I hope he’s got one more comeback in him. He had looked great through the first 3.5 games... he’s just got some of the worst luck in the world.

Catching passes from who??? Winston, Dalton, Newton or are they giving the keys to Minshew?

They're letting Cam Newton go, they couldn't find a trade for him. They did pickup Teddy Bridgewater. So right now the Depth Chart looks like Bridgewater, Will Grier, and PJ Walker.
