Barry was always a solid guy glad he's still active and hope he's in good health.

Wisconsin fans have always been pretty arrogant in my experience, so the show hosts' outlook isn't a shock. Hope springs eternal in the transfer era. Just another pull of the slot machine lever not knowing the house always wins. Unless their QB is truly phenomenal, I don't expect this to be our 4th toughest game. No reason to credit Fickell for his ability to build a winning culture at Cincinnati 4 years ago when Newberry's had back-to-back 10-win seasons with bowl wins. Heck, Cuse and BC were ranked in the AP poll more recently than Wisconsin.
Wisconsin fans are fucking delusional. I’ll never forget the fat old dipshit giving 10 year old me a hard time at the 1993/1994 rose bowl for wearing a ND shirt. Was saying they would beat ND and Florida state. He’s all Wisconsin fans in my mind.

How concerned are we about Wisconsin’s QB? He is the same style as Pribula isn’t he? I know it’s just ODU but seeing Pribula tear up NC State is concerning. I’m obviously not saying they are equal players but it sure puts a ton of pressure on a defense.

NC State sucks.

A lot of people are saying that ND fans are sleeping on Wisconsin.

I'm not one of them. ND by 14+.

Wisconsin fans travel better than anyone, what fan percentage are we thinking for both sides?

and he was bad against Indiana
Yeah, he was honestly not good in that game.

His entire production basically came off 2 busted run plays where Indiana's safeties are legit MIA. I can't imagine ND's safeties let that happen.

The gap between NC State's defense and ours is the size of like 10 Grand Canyons.

It's not just that our defense is elite, NC State's defense looks absolutely atrocious.

I think some of the fans are setting themselves up for a letdown. Wisconsin is a team that we should beat by double digits for sure. But it is quite unlikely going to be 28-0 at the half. I see a 14-3 game at the break and everyone gets panicky.

They’ll probably try to run to control clock

If our defense is half as good as I think it is, I just can't see WI scoring more than 10-14 points Sunday. I also don't expect us to put up more than 40, as a) WI's defense is decent and b) I expect us to have some typical first game hiccups. If I was a betting man, 38-10 sounds about right.

I believe ticket distribution was 50-50, so start there. Given that the game is in Wisconsin and surely some Notre Dame ticketholders sold on the secondary market, but also that it is a long weekend and also drivable from Chicago and other Notre Dame-heavy points in the Midwest, I'd guess 60-40 Wisconsin. Maybe 65 percent Wisconsin.
So... road-ish, but not like playing in Madison.

O/U is 47.5 so that guess is pretty good.

I was watching some Wiscy radio show/podcast with Barry Alvarez on the panel and the shock jocks were talking up Wiscy's chances and saying Notre Dame was overlooking them for Miami and when it was Alvarez's turn to speak he just said "Well, I don't think Notre Dame is thinking about a game in November (lol) but when you're heavy underdogs I guess that's what you've got to hope for." Made me think that he knows they're probably about to get cooked.
If it was the same show I watched, it seems like people might be fabricating outrage. I didn't take anything from it besides I really like Barry Alvarez and he was honest. He thought ND was loaded but if you're in the locker room, you talk up how it's 1 game, etc. etc.

Honestly, I think most of the Wisconsin beat that I've watched have been honest and fair in their assessments. Every fan has to believe their team has a chance and ND has shown it can start slow, press and then stub it's toe.

We all hope/believe those days are gone but by Sunday morning, I'll be convinced it's going to be a 1 score game. I'm anxious to see how loaded this roster is.
