  • Thanks homie. It's a dark day for us with that crappy showing from our fans. It's one thing to have an underperforming team, it's an entirely different thing to have an underperforming fanbase.
yeah dude, its almost a flip of the traditional BK team performance. ND was great on D but spotty on O. Was frustrating to see the OL get beat like they did but them's the breaks unfortunately!
Thanks buddy, just saw this. Good luck to you guys too, not that you need it, looked legit again against FSU!
Yeah, he and 2 or 3 others have a real burr under their saddle about this, to the point where they've become irrational and emotional about it and facts or reason be damned. Let 'em play our schedule and then see what they think. :)
Thanks for your input. Getting an unbiased opinion from a fan of a different team is always good. I think your prediction seems to be the popular one. Georgia, SC, and Stanford will be big games obviously and will probably dictate if ND can make a playoff push or not. We'll try to beat those Bulldogs for ya; I'm quietly confident we can do it.
UNC, OkSU, Baylor, Miami and other programs that shall not be named make me feel Ole Miss is gonna walk with nothing more than a little slap on the wrist... we will see.
yep... the few give the rest a bad name. LSU is the same way. A night game there is one of the best environments in CFB. But the few drunk jerks can ruin it for you in a minute. Otherwise, some of the outright friendliest fans you would ever meet.
Of course once I meet you in person that rule will be broken I'm sure... but seriously, y'all f'n crazy generally. "That over zealous drunk guy ruining everyone else's time" kind of fits the theme. Shockingly there are, and have been, a lot of bama fans out here... my disdain started in grade school with a few families in the neighborhood. True story.
Yep. I think a lot of the noise was just recruiting analysts wanting clicks. But Najee didn't do much to quell those rumors. In the end, I think he will be another great Bama back.
Just glad to see the kid here. Wasn't sure we weren't getting played for awhile there. Looks like he's gonna be a monster RB.
Yep, I'm afraid you're right. I've had more than one chuckle at your embracing of the role. :) Yeah, I think we're likely to add some more hardware to the trophy case. Unless we completely fall apart, we're just a level above anyone else this year. Happy New Year, brother!
My pleasure. It's good to have the perspective of an outsider here. As you are aware, nobody is thrilled with the current situation of our program. But some folks are handling it like children. They forget that 18-21 year old student athletes are involved. Rooting for them to lose just to get the coach fired is disgraceful in my book. Good luck to the Tide in the playoffs.
I'm starting to believe nobody this side of the NFL can beat us. Just hope the players aren't starting to believe that, though.
Yeah, Baylor has a deep hole to dig out of. I am really disappointed because they're a Christian university. I expect more of them, at least it looks like they are moving in the right direction now.
Was on campus a few years ago for just a little while. Don't make it back there very much. If I ever get that way I will hit you up and see if we can get together. Thanks bud... sorry to hear about BG getting beat in the state tourney in basketball. I thought they had a shot to win it all this year. But at least ND is still hooping. Good time to make a run. Good luck today against UNC.
For some reason just saw your message. When was the last time you were in BG? The town and campus have really changed. If you are ever in town let me know! We will grab a drink and chat about WKU, ND, and even Bama lol. Did you hear about Ray Harper resigning?

I know better than to throw you under your mobile home by referencing you to an article;).

Oh I know, you know it's always good in the hood. You take a lot more than you dish out :)
Thanks for the uber tip. I will check that out for sure. I was in Chicago once about six years ago and stayed downtown. Ate at Harry Carey's and then hit up Howl at the Moon. I don't remember walking back to the hotel however. Glad my drinking days are over... well maybe a craft beer while I am in town won't hurt.

Don't know if you saw m post in the stupid things thread about my wife and Chicago. Classic stuff.

Good luck to your Irish this coming season. I think it can be a playoff run type season for ND if the injury bug stays away and the defense improves. Thanks again.
Being an engineer, I really want to go to the science and industry museum. I just don't know how safe it is down that far. The Field Museum and the Art Institute as well if I can get time for them. I would love to see the Blackhawks. Went to a few Predator games in Nashville when I lived there and the atmosphere and games were off the chain. Gave me a new appreciation for guys on skates. LOL

Rack Em recommended some restaurants such as Lou's and Gibson's Steakhouse. Several others I have checked out on line as well such as Barbeque Q (Ithink that's how they spell it), Giordano's, maybe Geno's, Carmines, maybe hit the original Billy Goats - still remember the SNL skit from when I was a kid - and then the rest of the time maybe hit a few of the diners in the loop area.
I'm not sure if you're a basketball or hockey fan. I would suggest a hawks game but they're not in town (they're fun even if you're not a hockey fan). I would not suggest a bulls game unless you enjoy basketball.

There are so many great food options that I don't even know where to begin. Tell me what you like or want to try and I'll point you in the right direction.

Get an uber or lyft account if you don't already have one. It's really easy to use and extremely cheap. There's no need to even use public transportation - it's almost the same price to use uber and they'll get you there much quicker.
I lived in museum campus for years which is right on the lake and where the aquarium, planetarium, museum and soldier field are located. It's a beautiful area and most people appreciate the scenery. If this interests you, a good plan would be to take an uber to the bongo room for breakfast. It's on Wabash and Roosevelt. After breakfast, walk to museum campus and hit one or two of the museums. Afterwards, walk the lakeshore back north and you can see buckingham fountain and millenium park. I would admit these two spots are touristy but it's not a waste of your time. I would always jog this path. It's a great view of the lake, city, and the sights.
You're staying in a central location so you'll have a ton of options. If it's shopping, you could probably spend a whole day walking the magnificent mile sight seeing and shopping. If you prefer architecture, I would suggest one of the architecture tours. The architecture river cruise is the known as the best but I don't think it opens until April (you may be here) and you'd have to get lucky with the weather. The museums, planetarium and the aquarium are touristy too but they're definitely not a waste of your time, if you're interested.
Ehh, that's what a lot of it is... just drum beating. I let 99% of it go in one ear and out the other while considering the source.
