From the Article:

Ebenezer Ogundeko, DE, 6-4, 240, Jefferson Central School, Brooklyn, NY has seen his offer list blow up over the past month. On Monday, he added three more to the list when Marshall, Michigan and Notre Dame all extended scholarship offers. He added these to an already impressive offer sheet that includes Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Stanford and a host of others.

Ogundeko was impressed with the Irish offer. Notre Dame defensive coordinator, Bob Diaco showed up at his school and extended the scholarship offer.

“He spoke to my coach and my coach told me about it,” recounted the talented Brooklyn athlete. “It was pretty good. I like Notre Dame. I like the tradition and their program.”

Diaco envisioned Ogundeko playing a role similar to another Brooklyn high school star currently at Notre Dame.

“They want me to be like Ishaq (Williams),” Ogundeko said. “They want me to attack from the outside linebacker position.”

Ogundeko knows Williams and the two have spoken about Notre Dame.

“I speak to Ishaq,” he said. “He said good things about Notre Dame.”

Though Ogundeko has made a couple of recruiting trips, he has yet to visit Notre Dame. He hopes to remedy that this summer.

“I went to some schools on the East Coast, but I’m going to hit Notre Dame and Alabama in the summertime,” he said.

Ogundeko believes his physical skills have caught the eyes of college coaches.

“My speed, my technique and the way I can run on the field,” he said of what he believes are his best attributes.

He briefly committed to Connecticut after a Junior Day there but has since backed off that commitment though the Huskies remain high on his list. He lists comfort his top priority in choosing a final destination.

“I just want a place to be happy at,” he explained. “Just a place where I can play and be happy for the next four to five years.”

Ogundeko plans to make a decision after his senior season.

A few things here. First, Ebenezer? Awesome. Love it.

Second, love his offer sheet. Couldn't care any less about what the recruiting analysts think on this one; the coaches or programs love what they see and that's enough for me. Has good size and fits the bill of what Kelly & the staff have gone after. Not bad at all.

And third, I love that he speaks to Ishaq, who has good things to say about ND. It's always good to hear elite kids, who have signed and already started at ND, continue to say good things about the program even after they wavered a little. Good to hear that from Ishaq, a guy who doubled down on his effort and recommitted to making a name for himself here. Good stuff.

Someone's had the 'ND is irrelevant' debate again recently haven't they?

I've seen a couple of the national CFB guys having the relevancy convo on twitter recently. Joe Schad and Bruce Feldman have both wondered how ND can be so irrelevant when other fan bases constantly comment on ND. :)

Good to see that they are speaking logically. I got so mad all fall when guys would get on the mothership and say that ND is irrelevant. Drives me crazy. ND will never be irrelevant secondary to it's deep seeded traditions and how tightly it is woven in the historical landscape of college football. Greatest CFB program in history.

That offer list is just insane. I really don't understand with that offer list how he is rated "low". I know stars ultimately don't matter but I wonder what a team like Alabama, USC, and ND see in someone that a guy like Luginbill doesn't see.

He's saying that it's only May and that rankings will change

I get that, I do. I'm more curious to be in the room as they evaluate someone then take that with me as I sit in on Luginbill or someone like him and listen to them.

My first profile is good luck

Big want for me. Just the attitude of LBs from Brooklyn intrigues me

I would say it is probably ND v. 'Cuse v. Bama

- Don't see why he would choose UF over ND/Bama in the elite department

- Bama is Bama

- Don't see why he would re-committ to UCONN over 'Cuse in the home team department, I think I saw a friend or felllow Brooklyn player is Syracuse's version of Malik Zaire/Shane Morris

doesn't seem interested in his UM, and Ohio St. offers, my kind of guy

That is what i was wondering as well... Sometime in the summer, before season starts, or after the season? I like hearing we are in the lead, but it sucks when they arent going to announce for awhile. :p
