How he is not a consensus 5 star player is beyond me.

I was going to say this too, but it appeared not too many people were worried about it when the rankings came out. He is a freak athlete with his size, arm length and speed. I don't see any universe where he doesn't end up a 5:s: by the time it's all said and done with. #1 want for me in this class, easily. And the best part? I really think we get him.

“@bartonsimmons: For my money Jaylon Smith (@JaeeSmiff9ENT) is as sure of a bet in 2013 as anybody not named Nkemdiche”

Amazing how Simmons and Wiltfong (247) love Jaylon but Farrell (Rivals) and Luginbill (ESPN) rate him lower

Best of NLA 7on7 East Regional

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. –
The NLA Elite 7on7 East Regional had several players do just that and 247Sports was on hand to break down the top ten performers of the weekend.
1. Jaylon Smith. LB Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Luers– The only thing more obvious than Smith’s athleticism is his passion to compete. Though the weather was nasty, Smith was excited from the first snap to the last, playing with enthusiasm and energy. As the No. 6 player in the entire country, Smith seems to embrace the expectations that brings and he’s eager to prove himself on each snap.
As a player, you rarely see a linebacker affect a 7on7 game the way Smith does. Due to his range, athleticism and long arms, the 6-3, 220-pound prospect virtually eliminates the entire center third of the field. Unless it’s a vertical route well beyond his zone or a drag route that he will swallow up instantly, Smith makes it very difficult to complete passes around his huge wingspan.
We haven’t seen Smith disappoint since the first time we saw him at this event last spring and his stock continues to stay steady as the top outside linebacker in the country.

From Wiltfong's interview with Jaylon:

“In choosing a school, I’m going to take football out the decision and really just figure out what sets myself up best.”

I would be rockin all kinds of Oregon gear if I were a big recruit. They have some sick stuff.

Hopefully this guy is recruiting along the way. So when he pops, he has a few buddies ready to pop as well. (in hopes he is ND bound of course)

The difference would be that Heuerman was at the OSU spring game for that picture.
Where as Jaylon is at a random 7on7 not at all affiliated with ND, but he was still rocking the Irish hat.

So whatever clothes Jaylon is wearing is where he is leaning? Some of you guys take the littlest things into recruiting way to seriously.

Not what anyone has said yet, not sure where you got this. We simply said he wears ND gear a lot, I made the joke he only has ND gear in his closet, STL said he has been seen with other gear... Nothing close to what you just said.
