He exchanged the student ticket for a face value ticket. I believe students are only allowed to do it for one game a year currently. Back then I think it was two.

If you get ahold of student tickets you can get them validated for like $20 bucs i thought. Then you dont need the student ID.

Interesting that this game is right at the end of fall break for students. Guess I'll be getting back in time for that one!

It's gonna be CRAZY. Because of the weather (and possibly all the people who got drunk expecting the Irish to get destroyed) the Utah game felt like a night game, yet it was scheduled at regular time. The energy in the stadium was amazing and by far the loudest I've ever experienced.

I so wish I could go to this game :(

Never heard of this. 99% sure it's not true.

I could be wrong... I could have swore thats what my buddy did for me to sit with him at a game back in 06. He was a student. I went to a different school. I walked up with out a student ID and got in bc he said he got it validated at the tickets office.

I dunno...?

Anybody have room for a 6'3, 240lb texan at your tailgate??? I might swing for some seats to this one. The wife will have to find other monetary means to go to her hair show in Vegas this year.

GO IRISH!

Speaking of this, what's the most anyone has paid for a bench seat?

While I was a student at ND I sold my student ticket for games I didn't attend for $5. What can I say, I'm a hippie and had no interest in gouging. It was SOP among students who didn't care to attend a game to sell their tickets to other students who had girlfriends, siblings or buddies from high school heading to The Bend for a game.

I thought they checked student I.D.s to get in with a student ticket?

The standard deal was the ticket plus Student ID. [I still remember, after all these years, my ID #. Go figure.] The $5 was more like insurance to cover the cost of replacing the student ID if it didn't get returned. I assume that scrutiny at the turnstiles is a bit tighter 3+ decades down the road.

My senior year I sold my ticket for every game to a roommate (in an off campus duplex) for his girlfriend to use. She had short black hair and I had long blond hair. I was Richard and she was Carol. She got in every time.

She was a Home Economics major from a college forty miles away so she it was not a problem for her to catch a ride. Every weekend she was in town she cooked, so we ate well. She also cleaned and straightened the apartment, partly out of the goodness of her heart and partly out of disgust.

Five bucks in my pocket plus edible meals and maid service? A win-win situation, I'd say.

It's the same thing I mentioned before. Your buddy turned in a student ticket for a general admission ticket which is permissable I believe for one game every year like my roomate did. The only difference is that your buddy was nice and just gave you the ticket, mine wanted to make a profit so he sold it.

So excited for this game, the Stanford game, and the Michigan (where we will apparently be wearing throwback unis with shamrocks on helmets)

A senior poster on another site said BK said it when he spoke a Seigfreid Hall.

Did my uniform survey make this happen!?!?!? :whoknows:

I think for one game, especially a night game at Michigan, the shamrock on the helmet would be really neat.

I also wonder what kind of throwbacks they might have in store. Old gold pants with UCLA striped jerseys...oh boy. There could be a revolt amongst the fans!
