Im not really worried about Urban anymore as far as Jaylon's recruitment goes. I think OSU only has a small chance because his brother goes there.

Its pretty clear to see that he is a pretty big Notre Dame lean

it is never safe to not worry about urban.

Some people on BGI are saying that there is a rumor he will attend the OSU spring game rather than ND's. All Steve said was that it was never set in stone that he would be at ND's and he will follow up with Jaylon.

Normally I would be very worried that a recruit would choose the pOSU spring game over the Blue Gold game. If Jaylon were to choose the pOSU game, I would say it's simply because he wants to see his brother play. I'm not saying pOSU is no threat here, and anytime a recruit visit's there, I know anything could happen with the stuff that UM spews, but I'm still fairly confident that Jaylon is a heavy ND lean at this point.

This. While I'll certainly never count out Urban in a recruitment, you have to at least think we lead right now and that it would take an awful lot to change that.

Not to be a negative nancy....But Greenberry, Darby, Shep(and he didn't leave for health reasons...lets not be naive) were all heavy leans as well.....Urban is the recruiting master. I hate the fact that he's gonna get a crack at him. And we should be worried. Last years class should've humbled us.

I haven't really been following his recruitment as much as others....but this guy is a beast. Can someone clue me in on why he's such a "heavy" ND lean? Thanks!

Well, being from Ft. Wayne, Indiana helps quite a bit.

Of course it's all speculation. I would say that he's been labeled as a "heavy" ND lean as the result of a lot of smaller stuff that all adds up.

Several recruiting analysts have labeled him as a heavy lean based upon the conversations that they have had with Jaylon.

He seems to have made a big connection with quite a few ND players and specfically Manti who he seems to idolize.

He tweets a ton of stuff about ND and very little about pOSU or any other schools

This past football season there was an interview a local rag had with him and he seemed to be really focused about getting out of his brother's shadow and becoming his own man.

All of the pOSU message boards have speculated that he is a heavy ND lean based upon the above. Given that they have his brother, you wouldn't think that they would come to that conclusion easily.

Being from Fort Wayne helps only in the sense that it's close enough for Jaylon to visit frequently and for Coach Kelly to visit Jaylon frequently.

Mom has said she favors ND but said it's really Jaylon's choice, although he has "always" listened to her in the past. LOL

not sure how much you follow any recruit, but if you were to follow one this would be the guy. he is the top guy we are targeting and could make this classs phenomenal. just saying he's pretty big time and worth the time to follow if you're into that.

Yeah, I get most my info from here and the posters as far as recruits go. But I've learned that following any one guy, and gushing over him, THIS early, can lead to some dissapointment come signing day.

So I check in from time to time on the recruits just to see what's going on....but I keep my distance. Keeps me sane.

Sampson said that it SEEMS like Jaylon is coming to the blue and gold game instead of the O$U one. I know there's been some debate back and forth about where he's going.

Was a short trip to OSU. Watched practice and hung out with his brother. Liked the practice speed and aggressiveness. Today watched ND practice with his coaches. Met with Diaco and ate lunch with Manti.

No mention of a spring game.

Interesting quote from Smith on ISD talking about Manti.

"I know he won't be there when I'm there" but those are the kind of people I want to be around.

Probably just a slip of the tongue, but...

Mr. Frued would say it means everything in the world. He's a lock. Add him to the right hand column.

Honestly I wouldnt be surprised if he went to neither spring game, would be better for him and both parties for him to visit again at other times besides spring game

Avoid the speculation

Unless he actually came out with it... Not sure I understand your logic here.

Soooooo basically you think he should not go to either game just so a bunch of fans don't get their panties in a bunch? Because I'm pretty sure both programs will continue to exist either way...

^

Staying home would only leave ... speculation.

Speculation is going to happen regardless of his plans. I think that the logic he was trying to impart was that showing up to a spring game could, and by could I mean would most likely be, interpreted as the school that is his favorite; regardless of what he says. So not attending a spring game is the neutral media play if he does not want/need to go to a spring game in an "evaluation" capacity. At least that's how I understood his post..
