Had no expectations before visiting but now doesn't expect any school to compare to what the Irish have to offer.

parents were also extremely impressed with his mother saying he might force him to attend.

Well, no school is going to offer religiously what Notre Dame does and still be a BCS competitor.

Boston College is the only other FBS Catholic school. Not sure if you'd consider them a BCS competitor, but they obviously have a fine theology department.

There are also a lot of secular schools that offer strong Religious Studies majors, without the obvious Catholic slant/focus.

Not to rain on the parade, but not knowing what denomination he belongs to scares me a little bit. Most non-catholic denominations where I live tend to look at Catholics with skepticism (at least in my experience). Hopefully that doesn't affect him...
on the other hand, if all goes well, we could have the next Reggie White on our hands.
