Jersey, represent.

The kid is an absolute steal. Love the frame he can grow into as a CB

Stay in the Garden State and we'll be fine at CB. Calling all Marauders....

I'm interested to know his actual height. It ranges from 5'11" to 6'2".

Looks like now is the time to hop on. How nice would it be to start having Texas-quality junior weekends from now on?

Not saying it was as good as theirs always is, but still.

Yeah pretty insane right? I mean, we were all hoping for good things to come out of this weekend, but I don't think any of us could have seen this coming. This is awesome.

Anytime you can prompt a response from Michigan and Ohio State along the lines of "yeah well he may be good but he's going to a talent wasteland in ND," you know the coaches are doing the job. Stay bitter, scUM and OSU.

Welcome Rashad!

This is the type of player that explodes his senior year. There will be teams that will try and steal him come January, mark it down. But for now, another great pickup by the staff

Yet another great pick-up by the staff.

I'll say this though...this is one of those kids that other school's are going and try to swoop in on, and one that the Irish have to continue to recruit HARD, even if he tells them that he's solid and to not worry about him. If he stays healthy and balls out in camps and in his season like expected, other coaches will most definitely start coming hard after him. For me, this feels like one of those 'now we know that we lead for him' type of verbals, especiall.

Still, great job by the staff once again!

Junior Day nets another recruit as Rashad Kinlaw commits | Inside the Irish

Keith Arnold
Mar 26, 2012, 5:56 PM EDT

It’s a recruiting weekend that just won’t stop giving. With a tidal wave of momentum still rolling, Notre Dame accepted the commitment of New Jersey athlete Rashad Kinlaw to the 2013 recruiting class. Kinlaw had offers from Iowa, Rutgers, Boston College, and North Carolina State, thanks to some electric performances at quarterback before suffering an ankle injury that ended his junior season in mid-October.

Kinlaw spent the weekend in South Bend with his mom and grandmother and committed to defensive coordinator Bob Diaco this afternoon, per Blue & Gold’s Jason Sapp.

“I was talking to my mom about it and called Coach (Bob) Diaco a couple of minutes ago,” Kinlaw told Sapp Monday afternoon. “I told him I was ready to join the family. He asked if I was ready for sure and I told him I was. They all congratulated me and I’m going to call back at 5 p.m. to talk to Coach Kelly.”

...

Although he has played quarterback for the past two seasons, his future at the college level will be elsewhere. Kinlaw has top level speed and may be the fastest junior prospects in the state. His acceleration is second to none and he has next level quickness that makes him one of the more electrifying juniors in the state. In addition to playing quarterback, Kinlaw has thrived in limited action as a defensive back but could also translate into an excellent receiver at the college level as he is very dynamic with the ball in his hands. As much as he is a consideration for the defensive backfield, his offensive prowess cannot be discounted.

Irish add another Junior Day commit - On The Trail Blog - ESPN

By Matt Fortuna
3/26 5:36

The recruits keep coming for Notre Dame after a strong Junior Day, as athlete Rashad Kinlaw (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) committed to the Irish on Monday.

"We spoke Saturday night, and I had a feeling maybe it would happen Sunday, but I think he just wanted to take more time to think about it and he did," Dennis Scuderi, Kinlaw's high school coach, said.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Kinlaw was recruited by Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco as a cornerback, a position the Irish are awfully thin at after their only cornerback from the 2012 recruiting class, early enrollee Tee Shepard, left school two weeks ago.

"I think he was just overwhelmed by the whole experience," Scuderi said of Kinlaw. "Notre Dame is a completely different place in terms of history and then you look at the school and it's constantly being on national TV, and when you add it all together it's pretty appealing."

Kinlaw also ran the spread offense for Scuderi as Absegami's quarterback but broke his fibula in Week 5, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.

It's a tibia. The fibula is the other bone in the lower leg. Sorry, as a PT, I'm an anatomy nerd.

Welcome aboard Rashad!

According to the Matt Fortuna article posted here, http://www.irishenvy.com/forums/201...shad-kinlaw-notre-dame-verbal.html#post678726

, it was his fibula.

From a Physical Terrorist's perspective what's the rehab/recovery prospects for such an injury. Do they get back to 100%? Everytime I hear fibula I have visions of LT rearranging Joe Theismann's anatomy. I realize that was a compound break of both the tibia and fibula.

At least Kinlaw has the seemingly requisite ND recruit injury behind him. Best wishes for a successful and healthy senior campaign.

Well, someone is confused because here, QB Rashad Kinlaw Out with Injury as Absegami Football Hosts Mainland - Galloway, NJ Patch, it says broken tibia.

Rehab-wise, I can't really say either way as each fracture is different. If it didn't break the skin and was a simple, clean break, he should be able to get back to 100% within 6-9 months. The tibia is a difficult bone to heal as the vascular supply to the lower leg isn't that great and the fact that all of your body weight must be supported by it, rehab times are greater and prognosis are less than that of say the arm. But again, it is hard to say either way due to the complex nature and vast differences in individual fractures. Sorry I couldn't help more!

Touche on the physical terrorist...
