Weird. I know it usually takes a bit to update avatars on twitter but if others can see it everyone should. Maybe twitter for Android is just slow on the uptake tonight.

Its obvious Jaylon likes ND a lot, but I recall seeing a while back that he was not planning on announcing his commitment until July. Does anyone know if he may have moved up that timeline given his consistent ND reps and the upcomig Junior Day? Wishful thinking on my part I guess it has not changed...although it is pretty warm in Indiana right now!

I think he is doing that so that he can take all of his visits... Free trips to various places, not unusual for a teenager to take advantage of. NOTHING outside of his brother playing for O$U (which may actually be a bad thing for O$U) points to Jaylon going anywhere but Notre Dame, I just hope it stays that way...

The visits he is taking now aren't free. Can't take officials until your senior year starts.

That's why, from after ND to senior year, he will be taking all his remaining trips to the SEC schools. A silly boy you are Clashmore!

It'll be extra-disappointing when he doesn't commit now...

I'm feeling pessimistic about recruiting thanks to Tee, Darby, and Greenbery. Jaylon Smith would make me forget about them though.

Adidas Invitational: Early Preview

The Adidas Invitational is the new incarnation of what was the Michigan Showcase and the Midwest Showcase in past years. The Maximum Exposure brand, lead by Curtis Blackwell and Chanterius Brock, has brought top talents from around the country together in the Detroit area for the past few years and this event, scheduled for April 7, should be no different.
Registration is not yet closed, but it is an invite only camp.

Expected Attendees:

Jaylon Smith LB Fort Wayne (IN) Bishop Luers
The nation's number one outside linebacker prospect will look to show that his 4.44 at the Best of the Midwest Combine was not a fluke and his ranking is spot on. Holds double digit scholarship offers.

There's a Davonte Neal and Urban Meyer joke there....

And Treggs is laughing at it

Haha nicely played.

In all seriousness though, for someone like Jaylon, who has seemingly leaned towards ND already through his recruitment, seeing a weekend like we just had can only be good in his eyes, no?

I'm sure a number of recruits want to go to "their" school...but if "their" school doesn't have a good class coming in then they may look elsewhere.

I think Miles Shuler mentioned it once that he wants to be a part of a great recruiting class so they can win a NC....good choice with Rutgers....

IMO (I believe Jaylon will be Irish) Jaylon doesn't think this way but like you said it's a big positive to have other studs committing to "your" school.

Yeah I agree. I think there must be some kind of rapport between the 13 class players, where all these guys feel comfortable enough with each other that one or two commitments this weekend spiraled towards even grabbing Zaire.

Is Jaylon coming to the Spring Game? Because this same kind of effect could happen with him if he starts talking and hanging out with those '13 recruits who already committed. Would be huge.

Perfect. Hope he chooses ND after a great day, with good weather and an ND victory

Its going to a tough game bro, not sure if I like our chances...
I am really hoping Jaylon Smith pops at the Spring game because we could be seeing the same thing all over again at the LB position. 1... 2... 3... LB commits.

Talked to my friend today who works out at AWP in Fort Wayne with Jaylon and Jaylon told him he likes Notre Dame, Ohio St, and Florida the most in no particular order. Also said ND is at him hard and there isn't a problem at OSU with his brother, but that his brother is switching to linebacker this season.
