i would assume maybe a gunner on the punt team, because coaches want someone who can get down to the returner as soon as possible incase of a muffed punt, or a gunner on kickoffs.

just what i would assume, no basis or facts

I haven't heard where he's lining up but I assumed gunner when I saw the post here. Anello snuffed punt returner men. When he went down, coverage wasn't the same. I want that return man hearing footsteps while he watching that ball coming down. Bennett's got the speed to be there.

Gunner is great insight on Kelly's statement. Makes the most sense. Very troubling to hear he drops a lot of passes, I always think of that as an intangible that is very hard to teach. Secondary is the home of stone handed WRs. Hopefully his hands will catch up with the rest of him.

Bennett has that kind of footwork? You're kidding me. Props to him if he does.

I will not predict much this year, but I will say this: The loss of DGb (plus Neal), Decker, and Darby, (A whole stable of Corners, Jackson, Wood, Brown, Atkinson, etc.), with Tee, will leave ND just fine. It was more important not to lose any safeties or running backs . . . You get the point.

I will not predict much this year, but I will say this: I expect Bennett Jackson to be a big contributor on D, and to be one of, if not the, breakout player on that side of the ball. We may have some inexperience at the cornerback position, but we certainly have talent.

In the Tribune article the other day it said that the Atkinson's and Bennett are now in the 4.3's for their forty time. I believe during last spring and this summer practices they were saying he had the athleticism and length to be special, he just wasn't consistent enough. Match that with a year of learning, some playing time, and increased speed. I like our chances with Mr. Bennett holding down one of our corner positions.

Yeah, Jersey Boys, (The musical) just came to town, I see what you mean! I am laughing and sarcastic, bordering on facetious, depending on what font is broken.

You know me, I just have to add to the mystique, Jon Stewart, Truman Capote, Sha-Na-Na, who had Bruce Springsteen open for them, Rubin Carter, Jim McGreevey, and Jon Corzine. Oh yeah . . .

Where did this quote come from?

Check J Brown, etc. I brought back all these threads at once, just to show how many there were! Impressive numbers, huh?

#NotreDame cornerback Bennett Jackson scratches out of 60m hurdles at Alex Wilson Invitational after suffering a football-related injury ...

Jackson suffered the injury this week. It is not considered serious. #NotreDame spring practice kicks off March 21.

Kerry Cooks stated today Bennett is "as talented as any cornerback I've ever coached", per II.

Last year i remember Coach Kelly saying he was the most dynamic corner we had on the team it was just about consistency and learning the defense. It is too bad they didn't put him at corner from day 1.

I said he would be my breakout player in the other thread and I listed these reasons:
good size, great speed, WR ball skills, not afraid of contact

I really hope he can have a big year for us and the early praise from Cooks is a good sign

Tee did say he was the only other guy who would do those footwork drills in his spare time. Like I said earlier, if Bennett has the footwork, I'm not that worried.

Unfortunately there are two sides of the field lol.
