He owes Gunner a public apology. That's completely uncalled for and unprofessional. The university should step in if he won't.

No, he doesn't.
Coaches are allowed to express frustration as they manage multimillion "franchises," and their success is tied to an 18 year old who changes his mind every 10 seconds.
Gunner's flip prevented another EE from joining LSU. He has a right to be angry. Do you think Kelly's "4 games vs. 4 years" comment was inappropriate?

getting a lot of hits on twitter around the college football world, not just Notre Dame related guys. I haven't seen Kelly's comment mentioned once other than ND guys.
Express your frustration privately, don't go out in front of the student body and publicly ridicule a kid for wanting to stay closer to his family. What he did was unbecoming of someone who heads the college football program of a major university and I can not believe you'd even attempt to defend it.
Kelly shouldn't have made any comment, though I think his came within the course of an interview, it wasn't a prepared remark like in the case of Miles. Miles went out of his way to explicitly bring up Kiel. It also ignores the fact that Kiel and Greenberry handled their decommitments completely differently, and it also doesn't account for the fact that what Miles said was on its face 100x worse than what Kelly did.
I feel like karma is going to place us in a bowl game with LSU next year. I feel like whenever there is a controversy like this, the teams meet shortly after.
Terry,
I don't think that BK's comment was at all inappropriate.
A) He was talking football,
B) He was being instructive,
C) He was trying to show how actions predict performance,
D) He didn't pander to the audience,
E) Kelly and Miles have nothing in common, especially class and decorum,
F) Kelly never got personal with turning a figurative trait into a physical trait, like "you limp-dicked SOB; which is how everyone I spoke to took Miles.

I think Gunner's only proper response will be to beat LSU in the National Championship game next January.
Your move, Gunner. Your move.

Freebie from Inside the Irish. He's got class that Les Miles can't even comprehend.

He answers all the question just like a young man should. He was very respectful toward Miles comments when some people would open their mouths with out thinking.
