Get a life? I didn't say anything negative. I looked at his offer list and said maybe I missed something. Is it bad to say it might be a stretch that the entire SEC wanted him when it looks like three SEC schools wanted him?

Brown has been described by some people as raw and he looks like he needs to put on weight. Since when is saying it might be good for someone if he can redshirt a negative?

Quit trolling.

Mardy Gilyard was a unique player in that he was pretty small but had incredible football speed (although his 40 was not elite). Chris is tall and extremely fast. I always find it funny when we compare people without similar qualities. "He is like a slimmer Louis Nix."

His 40 is definitly better, but Mardy was so explosive on the field, that it is hard to know what that means.

I am excited about Chris at ND and hopefully if he can put on some muscle between now and the fall he could see the field this year. We need a playmaker at receiver this fall and right now we've got TJ Jones and John Goodman. If he can't bulk up to 190lbs or so then I think he needs to spend the year in the weight room and prepare for 2013.

Arkansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt appear to be the SEC offers I could find. Arkansas and South Carolina are very good judges of receiving talent, so while stating that the entire SEC wanted him is false, it's encouraging that two of the SEC schools that did offer him have a good reputation of finding and developing quality FBS receivers.

Just for the record...... He had an offer from Alabama which was received during his official visit. He did not want to report nor did he tell me after he returned home. I have to say that I preferred in the past that Chris be redshirted but from the determination that he has had since the beginning of Dec.....I have no doubt in my mind that his goal is to be on the field in 2012. He has already gained weight and is up to 187lbs. If he can get to 195 by the time he arrives, I assure you that he will play. I would not be shocked if he's running a 4.3 flat upon arrival. But hey, I am only the father what do I know. Enjoy your day guys.

That's great to hear. I know we are all excited for him to get out there and start making plays. What a promising talent.

It is always great to have parents on this board to share the information they have. Thanks for the update Mr. Brown.

Kinda weird that you're calling another guy's dad, "dad."

In all seriousness though, always good to hear from Chris' dad. Thanks for popping in from time to time and posting!

I saw this on that other site, and its some real good evidence of your point:

"Frank Beamer and Brian Kelly each developed 15 2-star recruits into NFL draft picks in the years 2006-2010."

Chris is in good hands, Mr Brown.

I can't wait to watch him suit up in blue and gold. I have been talking Chris up since last year as one of the most underrated kids in this country this year by recruiting services. I expect to be called crazy, but I watch Chris' film, and I watch a guy like Agholor's and the talent and athleticism gap is almost unrecognizable.

I agree with you. A great deal of people probably think I am crazy as well or just bias. I believe I am on the record stating that Chris will win the Heisman before finishing up his college career, so we will see how that goes.....his expectation is very high as well. I have seen a great deal of WRs in my days but he hasn't even scratched the surface of his full potential and all those recruiting analysis will have to justify the 3 Star rating!! 2012 is going to be a very exciting year for us all!

FWIW Agholor ran a 4.59 at the opening and also had a 4.56 shuttle. My guess was he was sick but still.

Honestly, I have no idea. I believe in the coaching staff, so I will let those type of decisions work itself out. On a personal note I would love to see him play both to confuse defensive. But ND has a great crop of WRs we just couldn't get the ball deep last year and if Chris or any other WR can add that dimension w/ a solid TE game....we are going to be unstoppable.

I have seen Chris play once in person and also been able to catch his highlights on the local tv. From what I saw, he lined up mostly outside, but was able to out jump many people on deep balls, outrun people on bubble screens, as well as make considerable gains on reverses, sweeps, and slot catches. The game I was at, he had 3 or 4 TDs an interception and 3 or 4 passes defended. That being said, the competion in Division 2A Charleston area is not strong, but CHris was by far the best player in the dvision this year.
