I have all the optimism .... but the old Florida coach is courting him like a 15 year old on Prom night. OSU seems to have the edge right now. Would like to see him under a gold hard hat though!!!!

Really? When?

(Curiosity..I do trust you)

Few days ago. Possibly on NSD if I remember correctly. It's in this thread a few pages back. And I, also, trust you Grahambo

Nothing like being a dollar short and a day late. :)

My cousin just tweeted me to shut my cake-hole!!!! LOL

Seems Neal's Dad is going to have some say in where he goes....

Diz

Which seemingly is great for us

Last week following UM's in home. Oklahoma, ND, Arizona (visiting this weekend I think)

I remember the whole OSU thing went down last week but didn't know if he officially dropped them or his dad announced they were no longer considering them.

I'm confident they're done if Stefon Diggs chooses OSU

And if he doesn't?
All this "OSU is out" talk just seems kind of premature at this point. Reading between the lines it sounds more like OSU dropped him to save room for Diggs, but they could always pick him back up if Diggs goes elsewhere.

Meyer was giving a speech to HS coaches and said they passed on an out of state WR whose extra step was out of bounds. He was looking for players that would lower their shoulder and try to get the extra two yards.
But, previous to the speech, Meyer mentioned Neal by name. If tatU would have gotten Neal it would have been a NCAA violation. Meyer efed up and wouldn't take the blame.

Really? Wow. Hard to believe that'd kill the deal, but I guess OSU has to be extra careful these days. And, it's true, there seems to be more indication that they're out with Neal than that they're in it at this point, with no particularly good reasons ever given.
Still, I'll count out the Buckeyes when I see Neal sign with someone else (hopefully us), not before.

Well, Cody... Slap on a new set of Pampers and hold on tight. We should know in a couple of weeks.

Meyer publicly insulted the kid on signing day. He's not going to Ohio State.

im not seeing anything, cept that supposedly neal tried to commit and meyer told him no. is that it?

Only one source (outside of Meyer or some OSU homer) has reported Neal tried to commit. Everyone else including the Neal's have said they did not try to commit and just straight up cut OSU supposedly because of Meyer's in-home visit where he tried to force Neal to commit (which is widely reported), and it is rumored that there was an argument between Mr. Neal and Urban.

Now, if Meyer tried to force the kid to commit, do you really think that a couple days later he would cut Neal from his list? No.

The insult he's referring to was that Meyer said OSU passed on an out of state wide receiver because his second step was always out-of-bounds during his NSD press conference.

Urban also mentioned that this passed weekend at an OHSFCA clinic presentation that I attended.

Meyer Captivastes at H.S. Clinic

Meyer continued: “Is he a kid who takes the extra step? Right at the end, we refused to take a kid from out of state. He was a wide receiver. His extra step was out of bounds. I’ve been blessed to coach some guys whose extra step was to drop their shoulder and get that extra two yards right through a guy."

Wow, he sounds a little bum-hurt.

Did Urban say anything else interesting at this clinic that you remember?

I see why the guy is successful. He is very intense and pays attention to detail. He takes nothing but your best and he won't blame kids for not getting the job done, he blames the coaches. Actually, he was a very very good speaker.

Right? He was at the ND coaches clinic too and did very well there (last year). He didn't even have a slideshow prepared, but he still gave one of the best presentations.

cant say i recall anyone urban coached besides tebow willing to put a pad down, maybe hernandez.

Someone shoulda had a pair and asked him why he was at his house recruiting him then.

It's hard to so called "have a pair" when he is the coach of the state school that any high school coach would love for them to come to their school to recruit their kid.

http://www.irishsportsdaily.com/isdblogs/coachd-blog/ The Twitter link say's it's premium but I clicked into it and the whole story popped up so maybe it's really free.

"Regardless of what happened, one thing is for sure, Ohio State is no longer an option for the talented Arizona athlete. Another school that is no longer under consideration is Oklahoma."

Decision by the 21st.

ND still heavily in it along with UNC and Arkansas.

Might not go visit Arizona either, may just end the process.

Senior Neal likes the fact that the ND coaches have never pressured Neal Jr. into making a decision.
