Their handling of Rios, Ekanem and Andrades frustrates me and I do think that we dropped the ball on those three, the others, ehh, don't really care. Trust me, I want to give this staff the benefit of the doubt but I do feel like they have made some crucial, yet correctable mistakes.
As a fan I do want the best guys and would never trade Lynch and Tuitt, but we have now seen that we can't pull the coup every cycle so a more conservative approach recruiting MAJOR postitons of need may be in order. I would rather have some three and four star corners/receivers that are firm than rely to heavily on a couple of five stars (that are looking around). I'm just concerned and frustrated with their approach...
Sorry, I'm not here to cause trouble...but to all of you bashing UH, how many of you actually went to school and got your degree from Notre Dame? I expected some elitism, but wow. You guys are even worse than Longhorn fans in this regard, didn't think that was possible.
I'm mad, but it would be very hypocritical to condemn Deontay for a similar act as our celebrated QB. BK will have to win with what we have.
Just wish we had added 1 more WR, CB and OL to this class.

If they don't wanna be here..let em go!! Welcome to all the signees!..ppl gonna talk, in the end all we got is eachother! Let's do this #ND

I did.
Take a look at how Houston compares to ND for degree value. African-American football recruits can expect to earn roughly 4 x as much with a degree from ND than UH.
And that's fine. But when one of your coaches has the gall to say that "[Deontay] realized the value of a Houston degree" as a reason for his decommit, you should expect that statement to be scrutinized.

I almost agreed with you because I know Houston has a very good law school. Then I looked at rankings and realized Houston isn't ranked at all on the U.S. News Report. In other words, academically, people are justified in questioning one of Deontay's reasons for flipping--that he thought he could have better opportunities
I think you're right that its similar but here is why I think it's not. (if that makes any sense)
1. Gunner didn't do it on NSD, thereby leaving LSU with time to find another option if they desired
2. Gunner wasn't committed to LSU for anywhere near as long as Deontay was committed to ND.
3. Gunner didn't string his cousin along
4. QB was arguably not a position of dire need for LSU as compared to ND needing a stud WR. They have a young QB ready to step in.
5. Obviously I'm biased, but ND actually has something objectively better to offer than LSU. Houston has little to offer him in comparison to ND.
I'm sure I can think of more

I agree that a ND degree definitely has a better reputation...but to compare UH to ITT Tech is a bit much.

I didn't realize that he himself said he chose Houston over ND based partly on academics. If he did, then I understand why you all are upset.
salty that picture is awesome

This really was a heartless thing to do buy Deontay. Not to us fans but to his cousin Tee. How do you say that you are going to follow your cousin where ever he goes and then ditch him on NSD. Thats tells me that Deontay has no repect for Tee. Its just sickening.
1. No, but he did it on the eve of his EE, which cost them another recruit who wanted to EE
2. I just don't really think this is that important. A commit is supposed to be a commit.
3. He talked to his cousin before he signed his LOI.
4. LSU did need a QB in this class. Not sure why you think they didn't. Go on their boards if you want to see if their fans think they could have passed on a QB this year.
5. They each cited more comfort. That is something subjectively better for each recruit. Much more important to a teenager IMO.
Someone made a great point earlier that Tee gave up his senior season of high school because of trying to play with Deontay. Hell of a way to repay your cousin and best friend.

Also, it was an epic fail by the coaching staff. How you lose a 5* recruit to Houston is beyond me.
On the bright side, maybe or chances of getting Neal just got better
