I believe BK has said in a very diplomatic way that GA3's future will be at running back, when asked about his potentially playing slot.

Promises are always good till the next recruiting class comes in.... just saying. BK will have his best 11 on the field. Personally don't care, just want to see stregnth at every position.

You've got to really wonder though if they do land another OL and Reeves... and make two guys "disappear"... if that's going to have an impact on the Neal recruitment. I'm not sure how hard and fast the Big Ten's rule against oversigning is but I've heard you simply can't sign more than 85 on NSD (in Ohio State's case, that would be 82) meaning people should need to get axed before NSD... so they'd have to axe another person to even have a spot open for Neal to take.

Crazy. It seems Urban can only beat himself at recruiting. He's gonna force Neal right into Kelly's arms.

Archie Griffin broke it down in our local paper. OSU can have nay number after signing day they just can not be over 82 at the start of practice and they expect some players to leave before then. They are going to over sign anyone they can obviously.

I know a lot of us are doom and gloom after swinging and missing on a few, but if we get signatures from everyone already verbally committed and then land Neal, I think this is a great class.

I really hope he surprises on NSD. I know he said he was taking trips after but hope he shocks on NSD.

Luke Neal called Urban Meyer’s visit “intense.” He said he tried to get a commitment from the Scottsdale Chaparral receiver/cornerback that night. It didn’t happen, but now, it appears, Ohio State is right up there with Notre Dame in the Neal recruiting sweepstakes.

“He said, ‘I came all the way here for you because there isn’t anybody else like you,’ ” Luke said Meyer told his son.

I came for you Neal.

Sapp Update.

ASU Out, Oklahoma now in the mix. May take official there and pay his own way to visit Arizona. People widely consider OSU to be the favorite but the family insists there is no favorite.

He is taking this week off to think about things and next week they will have a better idea of who leads. Sapp also says that ND's momentum has carried through his other visits and the program is "strongly in play" <--family said that

Also I don't know if this was a known fact, but he was a USC fan growing up but has no interest in playing there.

wish JSapp would have asked him about the oversigning issue at OSU. I would love to hear what Papa Neal has to say about that.

Just to clarify, Davonte's dad was a USC fan growing up as he grew up 10 minutes from the campus. He was making a point that just because Davonte was born in Ohio does not mean OSU leads.

Also interesting that his dad said he currently doesn't have a preference for Davonte but probably will after they sit down and talk about it. He said he might nudge him in a certain direction but it will ultimately be Davonte's choice.

Don't we think OSU leads because he referred to his official as his "best one yet" (according to Biggins)?

I kinda took that passage to mean that he was dispelling any rumors that Luke might be driving Davonte in a certain direction. In other words, ND and OSU are players because Davonte says so, not Luke.

Very true. Luke Neal is a straight shooter though and I get the feeling he can sense when someone is feeding his son some b.s. and we all know that is what Urban is doing.

That would be nice for a change.

Urban is not BSing anyone when he says that Neal is a singular talent. If Neal is a stud, Urban will live up to all his promises.

If football is all that matters to you, AND you stay healthy, AND you are better than the kids ahead of you, AND a better kid does not come in behind you, it may be better to go to Florida or Alabama, since they will not let anything (like academics) interfere with maximizing your talent and exposure.

The BS comes in when he starts talking about caring about the kid past football. He is interested in winning, pure and simple. The question for parents of elite kids is do you trust your kid to an opportunist? I think pride makes a lot of these parents more susceptible than they would otherwise be.
