Not an OSU fan by any stretch, but the article which quoted Archie Griffin indicated a number of players from 2011 could count as 2010, plus there were a couple of DNQ's if I recall. I think that OSU can move all 6 EE's from this class to 2011. They are still up against the 82 limit though. Hope this post isn't deleted like the last one on this topic (still not sure why it was)

How? Per their list on 247, they only have one kid who enrolled last year in January. Unless they have some serious voodoo math quarter system or summer session that allows them to count kids as EEs who weren't.....

We have Quarters, but Winter Quarter started Jan 4th. Can you be an EE if you enroll in the Spring?

Neither, just a big college football fan but bigger Notre Dame fan. No need in giving me more of a red rating just because I'm stating my educated opinion that might differ from yours. I see no need in getting a message approved, by a few around here, to go ahead and post it. My opinion can't be any more vulgar than the pics that float on here on occasions.

Did I mention anything like that in my post? Nope. Did I negative rep you? Nope. I just pointed out that you are being an Urban Meyer homer.

They are on quarters, but I don't think that matters for EE. They also had QB go to prep school for the 2011 season, but I have no idea how he fits into the program now numbers wise. Cardale Jones I think?

LOL so what we're getting at is that really no one knows how many kids they signed last year, how many of those they were able to count towards 2010, and how many they can sign this year... but it's safe to say they'll be able to sign whoever they want.

EDIT: the reason why quarters matters is that you can only count kids towards the previous class if they can be designated as an EE. So if you have a kid enroll for the spring quarter they could hypothetically count them towards the previous class.... maybe. They only had one kid enroll in January and had five enroll in April. If those 5 can all count towards the 2010 class then they basically have no limits on how many kids they take this year.

Again, not a fan so someone like ant80 may need to confirm this; the EE's from 2011 class that I have heard are:

Miller, Ryan Shazier, Joel Hale, Jeff Heuerman, Jeremy Cash (I can't confirm right now if these were all EE's though)

Also, Cardale Jones DNQ'd last year and is back on the 2012 list; Ejuan Price DNQ'd (I think) and ended up at PITT instead.

Also, does it matter who early enrolled and when? No matter what they can't have 82 players on scholarship when fall practice starts. Right now I believe they are at or over that, right? That's got to at least make Davonte Neal uneasy.

Mike Farrell @rivalsmike
Stefon Diggs was digging that Urban Meyer said he would be used like Percy Harvin at #OhioState.

Apparently anyone can be Percy Harvin. At least if Urban is recruiting you

This is absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully Neal and his dad see that Urban says the same thing to every skill player he recruits.

i hate to be negative nancy, but for some reason it seems like neal is starting to lean hard to staying in zona for **** rod or maybe even oklahoma, making a strong push down the stretch. vibe to me feels like the old man is feeling us more than the kid...really hope that i am wrong.

i agree with you, kinda get the same feeling.

How does ND start appealing to the kids and not just the parents...dont get me wrong i like having the parents in out corner but what do we do to get these young men interested more?

winning would probably be very important.

Winning always helps, but I think having the parents on their side helps as well. A lot of these parents seem to be pushing education and it's hard to beat ND in that category.

My thoughts exactly. The value of a statement like that diminishes significantly when you say it to more than one recruit.

Wishful thinking, but I think that the Irish whiff on both. I have this gut feeling that the Irish are done w/ what is currently committted, though I pray I'm wrong!

I was feeling the same way, but the more I hear about it the more I like our chances of getting Neal. If Stefon Diggs picks OSU I will REALLY like our chances of getting him.

Since we love picking apart tweets, sometimes because they are funny and other times to irritate the pessimists on the board, Poole just tweeted something interesting.

"I.N.D.E.P.E.N.D.E.N.T. Do you know what that means?"

Yes, its a song from Webbie in 2007. Still I think its interesting, and I am sure people love over-analyzing tweets from 18 year olds.

He is being his own man making his own decision and will go to UF.

Since I didn't see a Sam Grant post in the 2012 recruiting area, he committed to Oklahoma. Another sad trombone for UM.
