With outstanding players at QB, RB, RB/Slot combo, 3WRs, 2OLs, 3DLine [I count Okwara there], LB-to-come [Ekanem], LS, and a boatload of DBs [Standifer to come], plus Badger's return and Carlisle's To-be "return", we've done great work with new talent infusion. The "prediction" of an great class come NSD is already true.
My only real regrets about the way it's shaken out have been:
1). loss of Darby;
2). only two OLine;
3). lack of another speed linebacker [Perkins/Odenigbo].
If this class would have had Darby, Perkins, and someone like Decker added, it would have been nearly perfect. The fact that we had all three of those verballed makes for a sour taste, but you can't have everything.
As to whether we'll mess around hysterically with DB alignments due to missing on Darby, Poole, Wright, there is no evidence that we actually lack sufficient talent at these positions already. We need to step back now and see what the coaching staff does with Tee, Jalen, Josh, Lo, Bennett, Standifer, Prosise...I mean, really guys, that looks like a load of potential to me. Let's see what Diaco, Cooks, Elliot can do with them ... I'm betting quite a lot.
