This tells me two things I already knew... the south takes it way serial........ like Al Gore super serial....

and ND recruits the whole country from sea to shining sea in a way no other school really does... the success of that is debatable by some haters, but no other school goes from coast to coast like ND... and that costs money.

Damn, Tennessee needs to get some better recruiters. As BeryIrish said, they are getting a poor return on that investment...except in women's basketball. Glad to see ND in the top 3. ND should be in the top, considering that not every talented local kid qualifies academically and the fact that they consistently recruit from coast to coast. Marquette at #11 was also a pretty big surprise.

In terms of football, I would guess that ND has to pay substantially for airfare since Indiana and Illinois aren't exactly recruiting hotbeds. Flying several kids from Cali and Florida can rack up the airline miles pretty quickly.

So can Tony Alford knocking on Nelson Agholor's door twice a week.

Texas is KILLING it on ROI...and it's suprising that they make the most money in CFB, yet are only 10th in recruiting spending??

And I believe that most our expences are due to the fact that we recruit nationally...

And Texas never has to leave their own state...

But we do save some money since Diaco can fly.

Airfare is higher for Notre Dame, other than that Notre Dame's reputation would keep it low. I'd like to know why some of these schools cost for recruiting is this high. Notre Dame understandable-high airfare-southern schools why-where's this $$$$ going. They recruit their backyard and Fla.

Also, recuiting the nation's correctional institutes does have some cost advantages for schools like The U, F$U, U$C, etc..

Yeah. I'd suspect Auburn and Alabama get most of their players from within 300 miles. I guess they spare no expense, huh?
Also, how does basketball recruiting cost so much? You're only getting 3 or 4 guys a year, football teams take five or six times that many. Yet schools like Kansas and Marquette and North Carolina are high on this list.
