Me as well. An unproductive back-up WR gets a 5Y at a loaded position while a productive starting NT gets the boot at a position of need?

I wouldn't say WR is loaded (with proven talent) but it loaded in terms of numbers. Goodman isn't in the long term plans, and let's be honest, a BCS game next year would be a shocker. 2 years from now is when we'd be poised to make a run with 2 killer recruiting classes back-to-back.

We'll see how it all plays out in a few days with the Armsteads/Wright

Totally forgot about Slaughter.

I think these three are the only ones that should receive the 5th year.

With the Cal coaching situation, I'm once again dumbfounded by the possibilities. If the Armsteads come to ND, you can't completely rule out Shaq and Treggs. (People say Payton had trouble with the distance so I'm skeptical he'd come on board). These kids are really close friends and the possibility of playing ball together is still alive if they come to ND. Shaq, Bryce, Arik, Jordan, Tee, Deontay ---- Bang Bang!

Someone has to be telling these kids that this class is about to get historic and that there's limited space available. Yuri, Darby, those listed above...legooo

BIG update. We basically have 12 prospects on our board for 3-5 more slots. It also appears that Jordan Payton and Bryce Treggs very well may end up on our board again if Cal implodes.

Depends on if Carlisle's paying his own way this year. Lax thinks that since USC didn't formally release him, he has to pay his own way this year, and thus doesn't count against our 85 max. If true, we have 6 spots left. If not, we have 5 left.

Do we really think we end up with anyone more than Standifer at this point? It just seems we are "in it " with others but doesn't seem like we are a favorite anywhere else. BTW...I don't want this to sound sad or pessimistic ... I like our class even as it stands
