The stuff I've seen indicated that Gunner has no real connection to 11, it was just the number he was first given and has kinda just stuck with.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but Les Miles thoughts on Kiel coming to Notre Dame (indirectly of course) per USA Today.

"There's a guy in the Midwest that's staying close to home," Miles said. "I understand that very much. This recruiting class will still be the style of class that we've had in years past."

Not a big fan of Miles as a coach, but he seems like a decent enough guy. Good quote from him there, showing some grace. I wish them the best of luck in rounding out their class. The way I see it, talent in Les's hands is much less dangerous than in the hands of some of his neighbors down there, particularly tricky Nicky.
