Per II he wants to part of a top flight class but it is unsure where ND sits right now. Is intrigued by the GK stuff. Kelly is visiting him tonight.

We're sending in Kelly after the Diaco visit, in the same day? I think that's a good sign.

NITRO!

Come on back home sir.

It's lonely thinking you may not suit up and be the next Rocket on KRs...

GK it was a joke... lighten up man
i know were all on edge but give the guy a break

We made up over PM. Just trying to make sure everyone realizes that recruits read this site. Wasn't trying to call him out personally.

Thanks NYC,
I pm'd GK and said I saw his side myself. It was more a joke about how fast Darby is. Really hope he comes back, kid is a game changer. I admit, it should have been italicized at the outset. I will edit. But as if posting isn't hard enough today, half my posts aren't even going through, lol.

Darby is an absolute beast, who with Tee at ND could change the course of our program. Very few kids can control a game at the CB spot Darby is one, Tee is another. The future is bright. Swag and balls 2012.

If Brian Kelly really is meeting with him right now, after Diaco & Co just met with him, two things could be happening:

1. We just wasted our biggest bullet (BK) right after firing a pretty good one (Diaco). I might've preferred to let BK's wait until the picture was a little clearer. I don't want anyone else to have the last word, I guess.
2. Diaco's visit went well and BK is going in for the kill.

It's funny because people often say recruit ranks don't matter... but well, they certainly do to the kids being recruited. It is shown time and time again. This is why it matters when the BS propoganda machine known as ESPN publishes "rankings" and that Mike Farrel is a huge hater. The irony is that ND has a Top 10 class with Darby not decommitting and a Top 5 class with both him and Decker.

Classic "what came first, the chicken or the egg?"

COME HOME RONNIE!

Dear Mr. Ronald Darby,

Is it a mere coincidence that you wear the number 25, like the great one we speak of know mostly as "the Rocket"? I think not. Is it coincidence that Gunner Kiel, as unlikely as it seemed in the dark twilight of this year's recruiting cycle, has peaked your interest in his possibly being Irish? I think not. Is it realistic to believe that you, having been christened "Nitro", would not grace us with the excitement that has long been gone from this football mecca? I think not. You, young Darby, have the opportunity do something that will never be forgotten in all of the history of time. You have the opportunity to win a National Championship the Notre Dame way, with your Irish brothers. To topple the BCS NCG the way it is supposed to be done. As a student and an athlete at one of the greatest universities on this Earth. Come back for the "comeback". There are only so many people in this world great enough to break the backs of 114,000 scUM fans on a September Saturday. We need and want you back.

Going to be an uphill battle with Darby according to insiders. But with this staff, who knows. Adding top recruits is going to help a lot.

If we pull off the armsteads, Darby is the only missing piece for me to be just as happy as I was about last years class.

I'm guessing if Darby wanted FSU so bad he would have committed..... He's torn and now he's really torn after the visit tonight.... The "Smooth Operator" will be visiting in a couple weeks i feel if he can't get it done something went south here besides a change of heart. I am thinking Darby will be in a blue and gold uni by the time every things said and done.

IMO we are behind FSU and Auburn right now.

Have to agree, unfortunately, based on the little information that's been put out there recently. We have to hope that getting Gunner makes a big impact, and if we can get the Armsteads that it will make Darby think that much more about what he might be "giving up" at ND.

It's not a stretch, I know, given his ratings, but IMO Darby is by far the biggest fish still out there for us after the Armsteads (hopefully) commit. He offers something in his speed that no one else can, which will help tremendously in the secondary and in the return game. Given that we have some really good, but not Shaq Thompson great, prospects at safety, having someone with Darby's speed would allow our defense to do different things than would otherwise be the case. He is THE top priority in our pursuit of a championship defense.

Yes, we trail right now. But let's keep the positive momentum going with the Armsteads and then show him all the love we have to offer. Then, who knows...

I hope all the talented recruites for ND get in the ear of Darby and lead him to South Bend. Better yet send Lynch and Tuitt to his home bagging him up and bring him where he belongs. All I can say is never count Kelly and Company out!

i don't like the tidbit of his premium on II.

"ND makes familiar recruiting pitch"
