Umm, duh, it is my opinion.

Darby is insanely fast. But, did you see that insane move Bracy used to cut right between three of those defenders? It showed incredible acceleration and speed.

Did you see the Poole interception where Darby met him in the endzone despite not being chased, being 20 yards deeper, running the opposite direction and being on the other side of the field from Poole when he caught the ball?

I am guestimating that he made up 35 yards on Poole over the course of a football field, and for no other reason than to congratulate him.

Saw that and before i watched the replay i was saying they had to be in man coverage against twins because Darby came out of no where. Then the replayed showed he was all the way on the other side of the field dropping into coverage. kid got serious wheels

I had a jaw-drop when I saw the speed of "whos-at?!" almost like a blurred line on the set. Then I said--- THAT had to be DARBY!!!

he thought blanton was bad, he should've took a gander at the other end of the field, which is the side he'll likely be playing.

We need to stop the myth that our corners were bad. Like everyone else, I did not like how soft our coverage was all year, though I don't know enough to know why Diaco was doing it.

But besides the Michigan game, the CBs played well all year. They got beat by some superstars on USC and FSU who beat everyone all year.

we were physcially unable to matchup on the perimeter all year...as a result this made us suffer. i'm sure they played and tried there best, but it doesn't take the fact away that we were inferior, especially with the ball in the air.

yes we played well against the average teams on our schedule, but we were clearly inferior against the better teams on the schedule, with maybe the exception of stanford, who had very little on the perimeter, thank goodness.

I agree somewhat, but great WRs beat great CBs all the time. Its the nature of the position. And when the WR wins, it shows.

LSU's offensive line is not mediocre, just because it got manhandled by Alabama.

I think we had good CBs who played well given their assignment, for the most part. Its just not accurate to say we had bad CBs this year. Not elite does not mean not good.

For all we know the coaches sat down with Tee, showed him game tape of the CBs and basically told him this is how we have to cover this year because we don't have elite CBs. Then, show him what they want and why his play can make a huge impact at ND. Maybe he's just repeating something that the coaches told him. Should he have gone public with it? Probably not, just to be safe but I don't see the harm.

very good point...it's becoming obvious though, to be elite we need elite guys in the secondary, not just guys who can do their assignment. i like not getting beat mentally don't get me wrong, but let the mac teams handle that

in the end you need to be able to do the job physically too.

That's exactly right.

Now I know Kelly makes mistakes, but I also know he hears criticism and addresses it (whether or not to our liking). This year we daring team's to run on us because we were confident of our ability to control the line (when we were healthy with EJ and KLM), but this required the CBs to play very soft. We played bend don't break that was effective but agonizing. It meant that the CBs either had to give up a lot of catches or give up huge plays. They almos tried to force the former. I think that will change to a degree.

One thing that is going to be a big help for the CBs next year is a better pass rush. This is no longer a hypothetical. A front four of Williams, Tuiit, Nix, and Lynch CAN get to the QB on a regular basis. This will allow for some bump coverage and create interception opportunities and take some pressure off the CBs.

Blanton should be drafted this year.

Then again, Dre Kirkpatrick will be drafter too, probably in the top 15.

Scheme or no scheme, the two play VERY differently.

I really like Blanton and think he is maximized his potential, but I think Tee is more Dre than Robert.

Any news on Tee yet?

What do you mean news "yet"? Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, but we know exactly what his status is. And that is leaving for ND in 3 days.

The news tomorrow will be that he's leaving for ND in 2 days.

And on Thursday he'll be leaving for ND in, you guessed it, 1 day.

Its the weekend. I'll probably throw back 1 or 20 beers, kick back and game plan for 4th-5th grade basketball. What about you?

Innocent question friend, i don't need to be ridiculed..... I applaud all your hard work but i'm not the guy to have a calendar with all the dates on.... A simple "He will be in South Bend in 3 days" would have been just fine.

I really don't understand some of the condescending responses people throw around on here to simple questions sometimes. I find it unlikely people would talk to others in such a way in person, and if they do, it is probable they have been smacked in the mouth once or twice in their life. Some more than others, but regardless it makes no sense to me in general.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but Rivals uses Champ Bailey as the NFL player Tee reminds them of. If that is even half right, that would be freakin awesome...top 4 corner in the NFL. Me personally, I think he reminds me a bit of Corey Webster. Big strong corner, no a burner but plenty athletic enough. Good in coverage, physical at the line and a good tackler. Corey Webster pre injury at LSU was the man. Also one of the better corners in the league right now.

I think its because a lot of questions that are asked can be answered by reading a few posts back.

I understand, but at the same time its even less work to just say "this was discussed a few posts ago" then to contrive a drawn out smart a** post just to try and make sure you make somebody look stupid.

This. And it was really meant to be offensive, but reading it back I see how it comes off that way. Sorry.

(My comment was intended to be more towards "are you expecting a status change?" Because there hasn't been any since it was reported a couple days ago he'd be flying up to SB on Friday. And if/when that changes you can imagine someone will be blowing up this thread with an update.)
