'12 IL WR Jordan Westerkamp (Nebraska Verbal)

I quoted the overall Football ROI ranking earlier. The Caucasian ranking is actually less flattering for Nebraska; they're 65th out of 70th (bottom 7%). I frequently here people refer to UN as a "good school", and I'm curious where that impression comes from.

Regardless of the ROI, I just don't see how Nebraska could be more attractive than ND in any way. If Jordan ends up reaffirming his commitment, I'd imagine it will be out of loyalty.

Fanbase bro. I grew up a Cowboys fan and now I can't hardly stand them. Notre Dame certainly has a great return.

**** man.

But not all kids base their college decisions off of investment WJ.

Some actually do things for pride, honor, and different environmental decisions.

It certainly doesn't meet logic always.

Nor does our preseason expectation or our postseason moods, mr logic guy.

Nurture versus nature debate.

I didn't mean to give offense. I was genuinely curious as to why you thought Westerkamp might legitimately choose Nebraska over ND.

I'm certain my fanhood and knowledge of return of investment, compliments you, wouldn't allow me a logical answer: only an answer based on irrational behavior indicative of 18-30 year old boys. Or those with hard ons at any age. Or those under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Or bliss. Or other unknown environmental pressures.

And for the record: I did hate the Cornhuskers less before the Big10 affiliation. I always pull for underdogs. Unless they're playing ND or the Cubs. ;)

I would give you reps for the Cubs but I have to pass it around.

Pelini can coach and the Cornhuskers would be undefeated every year, if they could play 12 home games.

I was talking to a buddy of mine, but given their offense, if I am a top WR recruit, why would I want to go there? With their option attack, I would spend more time blocking than catching. Am I in the minority on this one?

Thats a good point. If I'm a WR I want the ball. (Not gonna lie, I'd be a total prima donna.)

Lots of Cubs love today must be Big Z taking his split personalities to South Beach.

Go Cubs, Go.

I understand they are paying most of his salary this year as it was expected but Volstad is no slouch. His numbers don't appear as sexy as you would like but as a Mets fan, I have seen enough of Volstad to know it's a pretty decent return on a guy like Big Z.

Yeah especially watching Martinez throw. But I can't imagine many WR prospects being impressed with ND either right now.

That is a good point....

Typically WR's coming to a D1 school want to showcase their skills, and blocking a DB for 60% of the game isn't exactly the ideal way to do t.

Who knows though, maybe he likes to block

Didn't Will Mahone just say that Chuck Martin plans to run an offense with heavy emphasis on the running game........gotta love this time of year!

Could have, but I think he actually said something more ambiguous like that the whole coaching switch was better for him. It could have been because he is getting Alford as a coach. I don't doubt we'll run more, but its not going to be an option attack.

Everything is relative..... no matter how much ND "emphasizes" the run we are still going to throw the ball all over the field compared to Nebraska... and as bad as Tommy Rees was/is he's STILL a better passer than Martinez or any of the guys Nebraska has. And that's not even looking at guys like Golson and Hendrix.

Had a good visit with Kelly and Martin today per 247. Jordan quoted as saying "If I committed right then and there, they would take me." Hard to really read into that... but I hope, for Jordan's sake, that he understands that "making a decision soon" as he intends to do might not be soon enough.

Especially with pending mystery transfer potentially and hypothetically being a WR. We've got 5 open schollies right now (total) so unless Cwynar isn't being asked back or we get transfer out of the program or we whiff on Shumate tomorrow... these are all going to be gone verrrrrrrry soon.

I've been drinking...so I don't follow...

Kelly in the house, supposedly on the verge, "great visit" but still no word...

What gives, Ms. Carroll? ;)

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I'm set for the hard fall.

I guess I really just miss The Shark.

I'm always looking for the next guy; I miss GT too. He was so sick! So exciting those two.

I think this should be wrapped up by the weekend. Or at least I hope.

Yeah. Sounds like they were giving him the hard sell. Makes sense, if not him, Kelly & co. need to be able to move on while there's still time.
