I already knew about Tee's story, but this video just reiterates the hardwork and determination that tee has.

We have a special player in Tee.

I don't think many of us knew. I heard him speak before and I couldn't really understand that well. I just thought that was how he spoke, because there are kids sometimes you can't understand.
But WOW. What a great story. You got to love the kind of kids Notre Dame gets.

I knew Tee was hearing impaired from the beginning but have never been able to find out if he is 100% deaf or what % of hearing he still has. Does anyone know? Would he be able to hear the crowd running into the stadium?

He might not be able to hear but trust me he will feel the cheers especially for him when he's in that gold dome.

A couple of things:
1. New favorite recruit, he has great perspective for a HS kid.
2. That reporter was a cheese-ball, but I cringe thinking about Tom Hammond talking about this once Tee starts making some great plays next year.

At the end of the day, this is the perfect example of why to be a Notre Dame fan. Whenever there is a kid who had some serious adversity to overcome, who has some unique and extraordinary character trait or life experience, who is not your typical teenager...you know he's going to have Notre Dame in his list of leaders and, to the degree he is unique, you can almost bank he'll end up Irish. When you heard about Tee and his hearing impairment, you just knew he was going to be Irish. When you heard that Darius Fleming enjoyed riding horses and bowling, you knew he was Irish. When you heard guys like Dayne Crist, Ethan Johnson, Steve Filer, Manti Teo, Stephon Tuitt, Cam McDaniel, Matthias Farley, Ben Councell etc. talk, you knew they were going to be Irish. Golson the pianist...was there ever any doubt once you found that out? Aaron Lynch's mom...could a kid with a mother like that go anywhere but Notre Dame when all is said and done? It is why we are definitely going to get either Ekanem or Odenigbo, either Stanley or Garnett, etc. Those kids just have Notre Dame stamped on their personalities. Nothing is ever black and white, but we cheer for the "good guys" as much as that can exist in present day college athletics.

Let's all just try to remember this thread, if young Mr. Shepard ever gets beat like a drum in the Michigan game.

Great story!

GREAT FIND! Man.... I love this kid. Embedding for easiness:

I'm quoting this so people that may have missed it get to see it. Next time I feel bummed about how are season went this year, I am going to re-watch this. Tee is a great human being and a hell of a football player. It makes me hopeful that a kid like this, one that refuses to let anything stop him reach his goals, is going to suit up for the Irish.

Help is on the way.

I'm wondering if there will have to be unique teaching styles presented to Tee to help cope with his disability.

I loved the story though. So many things I didn't even consider about his disability, and I didn't know it was as bad as it is.

Tee, I think, is no doubt the face of this recruiting class.

Reps.

While many of us are b!tching about a BCS bowl that could have been, players like Te'o and Shepard continue to choose ND over every other school in the BCS. That's why we can proudly claim the Irish as our team, regardless of our record.

You know what they say about disabilities that it usually heightens other senses. Think about the corner position you need to be able to read the quarterbacks eyes and run and feel the receiver run his routes. Slight problem is he might not hear the whistle blow but then again ive never complained about one of our guys blasting someone.....

Next step Mod steps in telling me how wrong i am and condones the monkeys actions on here. The fact that any post is "open game" but if a "newby" was to quote a remark for a "vet" on here look out. You'd be banned right away. I never in my life seen one site where so many new people are banned. So i laugh and your right i don't post here often and this is why....
