Did I miss something or are these 4A announcers dumb asses?

They just said Dieter is heading to Notre Dame..

Washington has the easiest offense to defend. You watch number 4 and number 1 deep, and then you've stopped them. And the qb throws up pop flies

First I've watched of his highlights. Only kept up with him through this thread and I certainly am no scout.

With his size he seems to have good ball skills, especially in a jump ball situation. I thought he looked slow but I sure didn't see anyone run him down. Listed at a 4.5 forty, if that's accurate that is pretty good. It seems like his speed is deceptive.

Seemed pretty quick at avoiding tacklers, showed some strength breaking tackles. Did some good down field blocking.

I really didn't see any showboating that was that objectionable. I've seen worse in Mayberry to be honest, 30 years ago. Maybe his tweets are a little over the top but that's as much generational as it is arrogance.

I'd be curious if any of you guys with a better eye and experience have any objective opinions as to why he isn't attracting more offers from bigger schools. Obviously there is something holding the offers back?

I have nothing personal against this kid, and wish him well. In fact I would be ok w/ a late ND offer. I just don't like the turnaround backpedal into the endzone stuff. It's a classic WR move, and as a former defensive guy, I don't like wideouts in general. Not talking about Gehrig, b/c I don't know him, but most wideouts I played w/ or against rarely hit anybody, but talked all day....Watch one Sportcenter on a Sunday night and you will see what I mean.

I think this is also what sets Floyd apart from others.

He is a player, but we have some very good players already in the fold. We are looking for elite right now... Agholor, Neal...

That's pretty useful at Kansas though...

I think he's faster than Goody though.

Other way around, Goody is without doubt faster that Gehrig. The difference is that Goody (for whatever reason), never seems to fully let it go, thus we never really get to see him utilize his speed. Call it playing tentatively or whatever, but this is the reason why he is perceived as being slower than he really is. Trust me when I say that if he ever let it go on a go route with full speed, you'd be pleasantly surprised by what you saw. Gehrig obviously doesn't lack confidence, and players who play that way always seem to be going faster and harder than those who aren't completely sure of or confident in their actions and decisions on the field.

So how fast can Goody be? I know Dieter was working on getting to the mid 4.4s when his dad was posting here in the summer.

Im not sure that he would go to Kansas. I think SMU is the top school for him.

If he has aspirations for the NFL he'll find tougher competition in the Big 12 than playing UAB.

Therein lies the decision.

If he wants early touches and playing time, he'd be more suited for SMU. Experience in a pro style offense and better competition? Kansas.

He may get earlier PT at SMU, I don't know what either depth charts looks like. But he'd still be playing against competition comparable to what he faces now.

Don't know if either coach would be there when he graduates. Jones is already interviewing and if Charlie turns KU into a winning program doesn't have to be a contender he'll be courted as well.

Gehrig didn't face good competition in high school. I wonder how his game translates to college.

Everybody know, "High School experience doesn't translate to college."

Psst, it was before your time, urbie.
