I did but i think he wants to stay on the West Coast. I think if the whole thing clears up with his brother at USC he will be a Trojan if not I think he ends up at Cal with Shaq. NDLA Mr. Hollywood would know more about this than i would.

I've never thought he'd sign with the Irish. I hope I'm wrong, but reading what he sayd to the SC insiders, and reading what he sayd to other reporters (non-ND), I've never got the sense that ND was in his top top group. Yeah, we're in the race, but not where I'd like to be. It'd be awesome to get him, but I've never felt he'd sign here. Same vibe I got from Shaq. Like I said though, hope I'm wrong (and I've been wrong MANY times before)...

"I still think USC is just as good of an option as any school right now. If he doesn't end up with the Trojans, I think Notre Dame could be an option." He is also looking ot set an official up with Texas and don't forget the basketball factor. He has been clear that he wants to play both sports.

I would be surprised to see him go groveling back to Kiffin and USC after the decommit and what has happened with his brother. But then again, he is going back for an official so who knows.

According to USC's rival's site, he's unofficially visiting USC today. Then they'll sit down as a family with USC officials to discuss the status of his brother. If his brother is not cleared by USC doctors, then it's almost 100% that Arik will not be at USC. Sadly, it looks like Oregon is his leader, as they are now recruiting him as a d-lineman after recruiting him as an offensive lineman for a long time.

No mention of ND in the paragraph, which included some quote from his father...

Would love to see him end up at Oregon. Would especially like to see that if there is a question of clearing his brother and the doctor's make a bad call just to get Arik. That would disgust me.

Not good. His visit (OV) went really well, but then the sit-down with the staff and the medical staff did not go well. It looks like 100% that his brother won't be cleared, and that means Arik won't be a Trojan. Oregon is said to be his leader and he'll be there this weekend. (And they'll show him a good time, no doubt. The weather might suck, but everything else will be plush, including the atmosphere at the game, the locker rooms and clubhouse area, the party scene and the ladies.)

Irish IMO will have an uphill climb after this weekend.

This is actually surprising to me. This may be more of what we see out of post sanctioned U$C from now on. Ol' Petey most certainly found a way to get the doctors to clear his brother in order to get Arik. I think their current staff has too much to lose to get all sleezy with this type of stuff. You wont hear me say this often, but I applaud U$C for doing the right thing for Arik's brother's personal safety instead of clearing him just to land Arik.

Thanks for the inside info on the visit. I guess if he's not going to be Irish in the end, Oregon is better than USC. I felt the same way when I found out about Byron this week. That would be a huge pull for the Ducks.

Hope he's Irish in the end!

I'd love to know how this visit went.

I was just contemplating how huge it would be to cap off this class with arguably the #1 prospect in the nation.

I haven't been confident (to say the least) that we land Armstead, but I can dream, can't I?

If you land Arik to go with Sheldon and Jarron, you arguably have back to back the greatest D-line hauls in a long time at Notre Dame.

Word is it is between USC and Oregon. If USC doesn't get things cleared up with his brother most of the west coast guys think he will end up a duck.

really would be surprised if he ended up leaving the west coast...hope he ends up in oregon if he is choosing between those two schools.
