Bama has a young rising coach though. Their basketball program is on the rise for sure.

They'll never top of the SEC levels just because the lack of fan support because the only sport down there is football

He will also visit bama on november 4th for their game with LSU

I have a sinking feeling that the USC game is going to put us in the lead with a bunch of top recruits, but not do enough to make them verbal early. Thus, we could be holding onto 3-4 spots until NSD for guys like Armstead, Agholor, Thompson, K. Marshall, etc.

Those 4 come no matter what.

GB,

realistically, do you think we land any of those guys?

If so, then who?

Not trying to be pessimistic, just curious...

Would hate to hold a spot for a potential major recruit, only to be left in the cold

Armstead and Agholor are our best shots.
Armstead will be hard to get away from USC this weekend will go along way in this recruitment.
Agholor i really do like our chances with him a lot. Been saying this since March if he got on campus.
Marshall is iffy i think we could make a really good impression this weekend to give him something to think about but i think Georgia wins out.
Thompson i don't see him going anywhere but Cal and is enjoying the recruit process.
ND pulls a surprise every year last year with Tuitt out of the blue and Atkinson kind of out of the blue. When a kid steps on campus ND does some of the best jobs with making a major impression. I think we land a super star or 2 this year.
Armstead- USC barley over ND
Marshall- Georgia over ND
Agholor- ND over Flordia
Shaq- Cal over Wazzou.

hope this helps answer your question

Thanks, anytime happy to do it. Just pm me if you have any questions not attaining to the recruit in the thread so we keep it about Arik. I just hope D rose is going to be on the court in a Bulls uni.

It may or may not have moved.

Depending on whether that is new information or not.

This is good to hear whether he goes to ND or Bama it's nice to see the first step in the process complete...decommit.

After all the talk this week if finally here. I don't care if we get any recruits out of this. I want a ND win first and foremost. Then I will worry about the recruits having a good time. It would be satisfying to have at least one commit after the weekend.

USC has a lot of play makers. We don't need to win, we need to win with a statement.

If he wants to play basketball why not go to a good basketball program that plays in the big east and has the coach of the year instead of surrounding yourself with pedestrian players, an okay basketball program, and a below average conference. Not to rip on Alabama's basketball program but... Also if the problem is playing with his brother it's one year man. I love my brother and all but to pass up an ND degree to play in 11 games IF neither of the Armsteads get hurt AND both get significant playing time. Make the right choice. I wouldn't hesitate to accept an ND offer and I know I'm bias towards ND but when you logically compare what Alabama has to offer in terms of Arik's circumstance, it seems like a no brainer.

This would be awesome. Even if he ended up at Bama, at least he wouldn't be going to U$C. Personally, I think we have a really good shot here.

Armstead will play DE if he comes here and basketball yes he still wants to play basketball. This weekend will go along way on where we stand with him. NDLA what you hearing out in LA?

Like I said earlier, this has been a long time coming. There have been whispers for quite a while that his parents were not happy with how his brother was handled, so this is not a surprise. Crazy thing is that Arik still likes USC and IMO wants to be in L.A., but this whole scenario with his brother put a sour taste in his family's mouth.

Not sure I like his comment about wanting to live in L.A. as SB is about as polar opposite as you're going to get. Also, the fact that he's into Alabama and he's going to the game of the year there worries me. Hopefully we'll blow his socks off and that feeling will stay with him throughout the rest of his committment and he signs with ND. But I've said from the beginning, and I hate to be a Debbie Downer, I don't think he'll sign with the Irish. Hope I'm wrong though!

Tuscaloosa isn't exactly LA either. A little bit o' positive thinking!

Would be nice if USC left a sour enough taste for him to come to ND because he will have 3-4 chances to shove it in USC's face out on the field!
