And going up...

“@KegsnEggs: Notre Dame is now a 9-point favorite over USC. Crazy line and ND being bet early.”

This offense is starting to look well-oiled..

It changes EVERYTHING when you can run at will and use Eifert and Floyd in the matchup game.

Turnovers are down, Tommy is comfortable, Jonas and Cierre are downright scary (of course with help from our big OL), Hendrix is now an option opposing teams have to prepare for and the defense is better than we've had in a long time.

The pressure is mostly on USC.. ND is real confident in what they can do right now.

I'd bet on USC with that line....

Beat me to it. Even if we dominate I feel this game (like almost all out other games) is destined to be close> We'll make it close somehow.

USC fans (and probably the team) are pissed by this line...

I don't think SC is going to see it as an option to double cover Floyd every play (Pitt), especially with all of NDs weapons that have come alive the last few weeks, they'd be gambling with some light cards. I think they are going to sell out on the blitz and gamble on Tommy by predicting where he statistically throws the ball under duress, that will work well with the Tampa 2 Monte Kiffin runs.

I don't think that it is the answer to winning the game for SC, I think that could set up early turnovers and quick points for SC. If SC gets a decent cushion early, then we'll have a really close, scarey game.

I think we are going to see, obviously, a heavy dose of Jonas Gray and Cierre Wood. Tommy is going to throw a ton of high percentage passes in an effort to spring one of our play makers free, I'd be surprised if he was throwing into the coverages early in the game.

Defensively, I think Robert Blanton will be 1-1 with Woods most of the day. I can't see Gray covering him, itd be ugly. Barkley is going to throw 40 passes as they will not beable to run the ball on us, but I can see them sending screens to our edges, but I am confident SC will not beable to win the game trying to dink and dunk like that. I like we come up with 2 INTS, and ride a solid wave of momentum. I dont think SC will score more then 17 on us, and I think, aslong as we don't kill ourselves/keep our turnovers under 2, we'll win 31-16.

Relying on the big play isnt going to help SC's fight. There only chance at consistent points is off ND turnovers giving them a short field. Like I said earlier, I think SC is going to sell out the blitz, and try to predict where Tommy will throw the ball while trying to bait him into hidden coverages. If we protect the ball, and our Oline doesn't have a meltdown, we'll cruise.

I don't think SC is going to blitz a lot since it doesn't seem like a Monte Kiffin defense to do that, but I could see them needing to with the way the offensive line has been playing. I agree with you on everything else.

Yeah, with the conventional Tampa 2 blitzing isn't necessary. But, like you said, with the inconsistency they have on the offensive side of the ball, I think they need the defense to get them in easy scoring situations. As much heat as Tommy has taken, you can't argue that when he has the time, he is pretty accurate. I feel like he'd pick them a part. But, forcing him to be indecisive, and act quickly is their best bet in scoring some TO's, especially early so he's second guessing himself the whole game. The easy answer to that situation is the draw with Cierre Wood.

I also don't think we've seen all of BK's tricks. I am sure he's got something nasty up his sleeve. ND protects the ball, limits penalties, and doesn't have 37 dropped balls...we win comfortably.

“@KegsnEggs: Notre Dame opens up an 8.5-point favorite over USC. Big number.”

Sagarin's Predictor has ND 86.04 and SC 77.35 for a 8.69 differential on a neutral field. Adding 3.08 for Sagarin home advantage makes ND -11.77.

Just passed up my ticket to this game. I don't know what I'm thinking. But I'm moving into a new apartment the next week and need the weekend to prep. And it's ~$1000 more in my pocket between the flights, food, and whatever the ticket fetches. Sigh. I feel like I just lost my fan card.

Good choice... It costs you nothing to watch it on the tele and you've got access to a beer fridge. Win-Win...

On SNF they just said that 123,000 people attended an ND-SC game at Soldier Field in the 1920's. Insane.

lol Lane Kiffen is such a cocky *******. I seriously cannot believe how much of an arrogant punk he is. Fits USC perfectly. All flash, no substance. Lane ****in' Kiffen, bro. Enjoy your beating.

lol Well yea, Kiff, this is pretty big ****ing game. It's only one of the biggest rivalries there is. He can't expect to win many against us unless he understands the level of this rivalry.

Don't change though, Lane. We like you just the way you are. :) lol
