We need two more elite OL, but landing Diamond would be extra sweet because it keeps him away from the skunkbears. #RecruitingDefense

Michigan's OL class is incredible. Adding one of Garnett, Banner, or Diamond, all who think highly of Los Skunkbears, would make it otherworldly.

It's not incredible right now. Go compare it to some of Weis' OL classes. If they add one of the guys you mentioned (especially Banner), then yeah... it would be pretty damn ridiculous.

ESPN- 4:s:, 39th OT, NR

Composite Score*: 4:s:, 14th OT, 144th nationally

Jordan Diamond:
247- 4:s:, 9th OT, 60th nationally
Scout- 5:s:, 10th OT, 48th nationally
Rivals- 4:s:, 25th OT, 226th nationally
ESPN-4:s:, 14th OT, 102nd nationally

The services like Diamond better.

*ESPN's positional ranking was omitted as a clear outlier.

I'll take two, please.

With a dash of Odenigbo and some Keith Marshall.

Top it off with a little Angholor and voilà!

Stanley has better offer list.

Diamond has offers from Wisconsin and Iowa. That's all I need to see to be sold. My only question is his bench. 270? Seriously, big man? I'm 5-8, 155 and my max is 200. You gotta do better than that at 6-6, 290.

You can make a player's bench improve. You cannot make him get taller and/or more athletically gifted.

Plus, those numbers are often off.

Could be a several reps bench... some weight programs list that instead of a one-time max. By weight-lifting [Olympic team coach] brother says single max lifts are very poor strength indicators.

thats a good idea but thats not how they would list it they would still calculate the reps you did into an actual max

I'm with OMM on this one. 270 x 10 or 15 is probably what that represents.

The NFL combine isn't interested in a player's single rep max.

And in the larger more significant picture [since Warriner has to know intimately well what this young man's current and future-potential line-applicable strength is], I would breathe a huge sigh of relief if Jordan and Ronnie Stanley verballed. That would give us the four high-potential O-Linemen we want this cycle, and we could close the book there.

Even if that meant that potentially good prospects like Peat, Banner, Theus, Garnett take their games elsewhere, I'd point out that none of these folks stands WAY out in front of the others to my eye. [leaving aside "personality" issues in my next comment: none of these fellows seems like a Seantrel Henderson monstrosity]. My point then would be: They are as good as anybody. As far as we can tell it's splitting hairs. Our O-Line coach, and our offensive system, and our unique conditioning system, will combine to turn any one of these guys into high-function defense-blasters.

Any of you young guys: come to Notre Dame. Train up with the best. Be great. Attract the scouts for the next level even. We're rolling now. Be a part of it. That means YOU, Jordan.

Rumors are that he has cooled on Michigan an awful lot. Remains wide open. A good visit could go along way.

How much you can bench one time means absolutely nothing to me. It is a very poor strength indicator and makes absolutely no sense to lift something one time, to me at least.

I would have to disagree, with you, completely.

Explosivity is best weighed by cleans, deadlifts, and squats.

The most translational movement in the weightroom is squats, power cleans, and mostly incline press.

But strength is mostly judged by one-rep maximums.

Bench press is not an Ironman competition.

This is not a marathon.

All men are not created equal.

We could really use some more OL this class so Diamond would be a very big pick up. Keeping him from UM is just a big bonus.

I'd love to land Jordan in this class. Him or Stanley for that matter. I don't for a second believe you have to be all world coming out of HS to play for Warinner and this offensive system. I do, however, believe that any of these kids could be future All-Americans.
