I don't what is more idiotic: the video or the girl pronouncing it Notra Daum. Sorry, but she can qualify it all day with "I'm not a sports fan" but surely she has heard of Notre Dame. That would be like pronouncing Yankees as Yawnkiss. Damn it.
Then again this chick evidently has an internet newscast about aliens so maybe she has been locked in a basement her whole life.

Forgive me if you're being facetious here, but "Notre Dame" is French for "Our Lady".

"No-tra Dahm" is a decent approximation of how that's supposed to be pronounced in French. "No-der Daym" is the butchered Anglicized version.

I don't know about him, but I'm not being facetious. "No-tra Dahm" is a cathedral in France, "No-der Daym" is a university in Indiana.

I think what he was saying here is that she was pronouncing it that way to be willfully ignorant of how it is widely accepted, you see that all the time by hipsters and arrogant intellectuals.

I will even accept "No-tra Daym" from time to time, from certain people, but even that seems to be used most often by haters. You know exactly what I mean.

Just to point out that not everyone sees unimportant things the same way: my father [ND 1936] used to pronounce it a la francais whenever he was feeling particularly affectionate about the alma mater.Of course, since it is mid-week with nothing better to do, we could always choose to make enemies of one another over such profundities.

Now about the UFO: probably the only people who thought there were UFOs in the stadium were Theo Riddick [on punts] and TJ [on a famous pass]. Definitely Unidentified Flying Objects there.

Obviously aliens used special ray guns on Theo Riddick, Jonas Gray and Dayne Crist to undermine our first half. Thankfully, God brought in enormous thunderstorms to scare off the interlopers so we could mount a second half comeback that just fell short. Since the UFOs have been exposed, Brian Kelly will be installing tin foil in all helmets to ensure an 11-0 run starting with a severe whipping of Michigan this weekend.

I knew there was a logical explanation for our performance on Saturday!

I watched the video. I took it as "unidentified flying object" in the sense that it's...uhhh...an unidentified flying object, as oppose to a UFO with aliens and shtuff.
