Goodness lord.

Are they playing the Little Sisters of the Poor?

The problem is we already have 2 outside WRs signed up. I really think you let this play out, continue to show interest and if we have room at the end give him an offer late. I'm pretty sure our coaches told him up front that they wanted to see him do certain things before they would offer. Maybe these are those things. Who knows. A lot of it is a numbers game at this point.

If Wisconsin hadn't gotten in the game we could've taken him as a preferred walk-on like Schmidt. And hey, Schmidt turned down Miami and Arizona offers to play at ND. So anything is possible. Bryce Treggs has been saying for a long time that Dieter is the most underrated player in the class.

So, did he set the record at 381 or is he one yard short?

I dunno, the earlier tweets were guessing his yardage. I think Sapp said 8 for at least 350. The most recent one I saw had the record breaking 381.

I would love it if he ended up being 2011's Joe Schmidt. It shows a serious amount of love for the Irish.

I was at the game and it was just rediculous. The crazy thing was he only had 8 receptions and on the 5 of his catches he scored. Some of the catches were over double teams and some of them were just simple slant patterns that turned into 60 yard touchdowns. Some of you might be thinking that it was terrible competition but it wasnt. Bloomington North was big and physical but they couldnt handle Dieter and Perkins. I really hope he gets offered by Notre Dame. They both run the same offense and he would fit into that offense perfectly. Very shifty for being 6'2.

LOL I'm an admitted fan of 247... so I'll let you all decide. Jake Brown was at the game though and he's the guy that said 373. Either way he got a lot of freaking yards.

I've been saying since the beginning that I thought Dieter had the ability to be a very tough slot guy or an outside threat.

With his height he is considered more of an outside guy. It would be nice if ND could get him but ND already has a a couple outside guys, as mentioned earlier. Would be nice if he could get a shot at ND but chances as of Aug 20th are slim.

This kid is awesome. I love this dude for more reasons than I can count.

Let's just offer him already. Seriously, somebody with more knowledge than me explain why this kid doesn't have an offer already. Is it simply because we know he would commit and we want to hold spots open for the big names? I understand that concept, but come signing day, I'll be pissed if we end up filling our last Ath/WR spot with a prospect that is a stretch because Dieter ends up with an offer from a big name school that actually shows him some love. I dont claim to know what is going on behind closed doors between our staff and this kid, but I hope he knows that fans of Notre Dame want to see him suit up in a gold helmet.
