Put Texas in his top 3. Said visit when "well" i would say his top 3 right now are Nebraska, ND, UT in that order.

If memory serves, Matt Hegarty was being recruited by by UT and they were in serious contention for his services before committing after Junior Day.

I mean everyone knows Texas gets the big time recruits. They can offer (probably) the best program in all of college, a very strong fan base, national recognition, great coaching, always getting the top prospects year after year and winning.

That's a recipe for success in the recruiting world, so no surprise Andrus is high on them.

We have a lot to offer as well though guys.... it's not over. Not even close.

A USC game visit could change matters, if he ultimately ends up visiting.

IMO, we'll end up with three OL. The third is probably someone we haven't heard of yet.

Isn't that kind of thin for one recruiting class. I would have thought ND would take 4-5 OL

Looks like we have 8-9 spots left, including Badger and Prestwood. Assuming Perkins is an OLB, we still need..

2 RB
1 Slot
1 DE
1-2 NT
1 OLB
1 DB

Also there's the possibility of adding a third outside receiver to the bunch. We could end up with 2 more OL, but most of our OL targets are OTs (excluding Garnett, who I don't think we'll get) and we're stacked there with Zach Martin, Nichols, Lombard, Hegarty, Nick Martin, Prestwood, and Decker. And that's not counting guys like Niklas or Springmann who could be moved. Next year's OL focus needs to be on the interior. We need guards and centers.

I think is closer. And yeah, could give a crap what that guy says. As long as we get an OV no "top 3" matters right now.

Our "needs" are likely much more fluid than that. 2 RBs is a must, as is 1 Slot WR and 1 more CB. 3 DL seems to be the consensus, though whether that includes any NT targets outside of Schutt is up for debate. Both Okwara and Perkins have said we're shooting for 3 OLB this cycle, which would mean one more there, but I'm not sure we still grab one if we miss on the elites.

As for the OL, I subscribe to Lax's theory that we only really recruit OTs, because that's the position all the best OL play in high school (like shortstop for high school baseball players). Hegarty and Prestwood are likely the only two OL from last cycle that actually end up at OT.

It could ultimately come down to which elites want to verbal. We're still in the hunt for a lot of blue-chip kids, and some of them simply can't be turned away.

We are number 4 right now. Says FSU was his best visit. He also tweeted his list changes everyday so i wouldn't read to much into it. We will be there until the end. Prob. a OV for the USC game. Also dont count out USC.

Hope he makes it to the USC game. This game will be huge with some of the most talented recruits in attendance. We need a nice win for sure.

i think it's safe to say every recruit on or off our list will be at the usc game...gonna be a big atmosphere that every body is going to want to say they were there.

You mean Hegarty, right? Or did I miss something?

This kid is so up and down with his recruiting and is probably just impressed with whatever school he last visited... I'd take any 'top three' of his with a grain of salt until he finalizes his OVs. It's going to a long battle for Peat.

The top schools as of now: Texas, Florida State, Nebraska and Notre Dame

No order.
