Notre Dame WR commit Deontay Greenberry sporting the ND Irish winter hat at Badger 7-on today

Top Performers from the Badger camp:
3. Deontay Greenberry, WR, Fresno (Calif.) Washington Union
Similar to his dominating performance at the Badger Regional that launched him as a national recruit, Greenberry once again was dominating. He is imposing physically, uses his body well and has sticky hands. He is very complete as a big possession receiver with big play ability.

Recruiting: Greenberry is a solid commitment to Notre Dame.

If he's solid that means Tee is solid and if Tee is solid that means this is awesome

The most anticipated game of the day matched up B2G and 1925, who have played against each other several times in championship settings like Saturday. There was a little bit of trash talk and a lot of plays being made. Notre Dame commit Deontay Greenberry would probably had taken home an award for most swagger and was nearly unstoppable in the red zone for 1925.

Scout.com: Greenberry’s Official Visit Plans

Deontay Greenberry, one of the top players on the West Coast, is excited about his verbal to play at Notre Dame. He considers himself a solid commitment and has clear intentions to ink with the school, but will take all of his official visits so that he can take a closer look at some programs just in case he needs to have a back-up plan. Who will he likely visit? Scout.com has the word.

Both Deontay and Tee have said from the beginning they would visit other schools on OVs.

It seems to me that the only things that will make him decommit are if we have a bad season or Tee, for some reason decommits. How likely are these?

I think once Tee gets on campus he will feel more secure. That was what the staff was hoping for with an unofficial. He see's why he committed and decides he doesnt need to take more OV's. I think Tee stays on board. Darby will be a batlle though

Frankly, I don't see any reason to worry about Darby either. All three have been solid since the get-go. They have always been honest about wanting to take officials (why wouldnt you take them?) and thought out their decisions. Most recruits have trouble putting together complete sentences when explaining why they are attending a certian school. All three of these kids have well thought out, distinct explanations on how they came to their decision and where they see themselves fitting in. I feel all three of these guys are the "tough gentlemen" that Kelly talks about. They have honor, they will honor their commitment.

Thinks that make me comfortable on Darby, Shephard and Greenberry:

1. They have all of the offers they are looking for (read: not Hayes/Burton/Okotcha situations where they are waiting on a #1 choice)
2. They have said from the beginning they are planning on taking OVs
3. They don't appear to be the bag man types

I like our chances assuming we don't suck *** this season. Nothing is ever 100%... not even after LOIs are signed in some cases (see: Prestwood). But I certainly like our chances and that is all you can really hope for with 7 months to go.

You got to think...me personally say I have all the offers in the world...me loving ND I commit to ND..solid...but I'm a fan of college football and I want to travel the country and see other traditions first hand. I would love to visit Texas-Florida-Wisconsin-Oregon and such just to see. But that's when people start to worry about your commitment.

I agree with them wanting to be a fan of the game and go see other places not on their dime.

I feel pretty good about Darby, Greenberry and Shepard. All three seem to have good heads on their shoulders and love ND. Of course anything is possible but I don't see any of these three leaving. I'm not ignorant to think that we won't lose a guy or two, I just don't see it being one of these three. We all saw last recruiting cycle that nothing is ever certain except one thing.., that our coaching staff will work these kids till NSD no matter what. We got to see this coaching staff bring in some great talent with the likes of Lynch, Tuitt, Williams and others. Even Prestwood eventually realized that ND was the place he wanted to be.

I thought they were succinct too.

Yeah, I've posted a lot of chatter in The Opening thread... but basically Greenberry is kicking *** and taking names. Drew double coverage all day in the televised game yesterday also because of how dominant he was in the earlier games.
