Did Marshall attend the same camp? Maybe Nitro is trying to build media hype around these two together. Gets that into Marshall's head and slowly bring him closer and closer to the ND side!

Through Marshall's twitter he said he was thinking of going over to unc but i dont think he did. Todd Gurley another ND recruit said he saw Darby at ECU too.

If I were dead I would roll over in my grave if Darby decommitted from ND and committed to ECU.

Is there no chance he is going to camps because (a) he wants to compete against other good players so (b) he can improve as a player, and because (c) they are fun?

Maybe there is reason to be worried and I am too naive to understand, but if I was Ronald I would go to camps if I were invited. And, I'd still sign my ND letter in early February because I would know UNC could not offer me what ND can on or off the football field.

I posted this in the Marshall thread but it seems to be relevant here also. But Marshall just Tweeted that he is "on his way to UNC"......I would venture to guess for the camp, but maybe just a visit

Not too concerned about what camps Ronald is visiting. If he's looking, which I doubt, that's still his perogative. He hasn't signed anything yet, besides, it could very well be all about the competition and trying to make himself better.

As we all know, Darby has been talking up ND to top recruits since he gave us his verbal. It seems like his favorite is angle is, "What happens if football doesn't work out? With a ND degree, you're set for life."

Thus, if he was looking at schools like Stanford, I might be worried. UNC? Not so much.

? UNC has some pretty good academics.

And you said Stanford twice. Is that to make a point or just a screw up? lol

I'm not knocking UNC as an academic institution (though I can see how you might read my comment that way.)

Darby keeps telling other recruits that with a ND degree, you're "set for life." As one who holds two such degrees, I wouldn't necessarily go that far, but he makes a good point. Given our national brand appeal and powerful alumni network, few other schools equip their students for success regardless of location.

To put it more simply, claiming that a ND education sets you up for life at least sounds plausible; saying the same thing about UNC doesn't. But I'm probably biased.

No, I think you're very accurate. I think people are freaking out way too much right now about someone going to camp. I'm personally much more worried about Shephard decommitting than a guy like Darby. No kid is ever a lock, I just don't get the vibe that Darby is really "looking around" right now.

Then again, Justice Hayes was a big recruiter for ND and when he didn't get enough attention on a visit he bailed mighty quick. So who knows.

Guys, I'm pretty sure that NO ONE FREAKED OUT. Someone made a joke about him going to ECU. And suddenly people acted like everyone was seriously worried about him going to camps.

I heard that Tee was aying at i think the spring game" Don't worry guys i'll be your teammates soon enough".

I believe both Darby and Shepard have mentioned the possibility of early enrollment. Shepard will probably discuss it on his visit.

Ronald Darby's high school coach tells Notre Dame fans "don't worry" despite the sighting of the four-star athlete at UNC this month.
Coach said the visit was with teammates for a camp and Potomac and Darby also hit up Wake Forest and East Carolina.

Rivals: :s::s::s::s:, 7th CB, 64th Nationally
Scout: :s::s::s::s::s:, 1st CB
247: :s::s::s::s:, 8th ATH, 64 Nationally
ESPN: :s::s::s::s:, 11th ATH, 70th Nationally

Composite score: 4.25 :s:, 4th CB/ 9th ATH, 66th Nationally

As a side note, I think Phil Steele rates recruits this way, but he also incorporates regional sources along with the major national services.

Does anyone know which regional sources are applicable for Darby? And when does Steele come out with his PS ranking for 2012 recruits?

If ESPN were to rate him as a CB, where do you think they would place him?

^ Top 10 primarily based on his athleticism and potential mostly. Tee is a much more polished CB in terms of development (footwork, body movement, awareness etc).. But, given the right teaching, which he will obviously get :), Darby can be a one man island, pick sixin son of a gun out there.
