For those of you suggesting Urban. He isn't going to be taking this job, at least not right now. He isnt a dummy, so why would he take a job that is about to get hammered by the NCAA. He just signed up with ESPN and isn't even a year away from the game. I think OSU isnt going to be able to find someone, that already has a good gig, to jump ship either. This job just isnt a great opportunity right now because of the inevidable sanctions coming to this program.

Maybe Tyrone Willingham could clean up the mess down there! ;)

I'm getting a little chub of anticipation for this article to be released. I read the SI version of Tressel's resignation, and that wasn't flattering either. It seems like this story is going to be amazing.

Also, comparisons between BK and Tressel should prolly stop. I know at times many compared their rise through the ranks, but let's not sully BK's reputation.

Per ESPN, Luke Fickell will coach the upcoming season, so I think the search will be long. It will give all candidates an opportunity to see what the sanctions will be. If they are USCesque, then I dont see a Great coach to step in, but if they arent bad, then I totally could see Urban or Dantonio sliding in.

Lending fuel to the Urban Meyer-to-Ohio State Buckeyes theories, ESPN college football analyst (and Ohio State alum) Kirk Herbstreit says that Meyer's dream job "has always been and will continue to be the head coach at Ohio State."

I thought Notre Dame is his "dream job." Kirk you suck!

Interesting.

This may seem strange, but I am a bit disappointed in the vest for not fighting and taking the dismissal.

Good for us considering tOSU recruits, but damn.

Wow.. This needs to help shift the culture in the NCAA. It's funny that the past two teams to be caught cheating are in the PAC-10 and BIG10.. Yet, the slimy SEC teams seem to slip through the cracks.

I cant seem to find a list of the recruits that are either committed or have high interest in OSU that also are seriously considering Notre Dame. Anybody want to get on that?

Our staff needs to flex some muscle here. The two teams that benefit most from this will be us and Michigan. We have to beat scUM for the better ones.

From the writer's twitter page:

Twitter

"I'm told it is likely my SI mag story will be posted at SI.com later today/tonight. Timing of Tress dec. will make sense after you read it."

I'm sooooo looking forward to this. Living in Ohio as an ND fan for the last 2 decades has sucked. But this....this is GLORIOUS!

Thanks!

Remember, there 2 things that the NCAA really doesn't like. #1 is paying players for play. #2 Lying to the NCAA. While some of this stuff goes on pretty much at any university, if there is a discussion about and the NCAA asks you about it and you lie, you are up the creek without a paddle.

What would be real juicy is if they hired RichRod.

Secondly as far as BK is concerned he is still taking hits on enemy message boards in regards Floyd playing this year, the rape case and the death of Sullivan. He isn't squeaky clean himself. And yes I know the results of the investigations and I try and defend when I can.

While it is nice that a regional big timer is going down, it sucks in the respect that a Midwestern guy got busted and still couldn't beat the SEC.

We haven't even scratched the surface yet with what is really going on in C-bus. Tressel seemed like a guy who would fight tooth and nail to stay, so the university most likely forcing him to resign screams "the sheeeot is about to REALLY hit the fan."

On the bright side, at least Gee doesn't have to worry anymore about "Tressel firing him" bwahahahaha

National Weather Service Issues Midwest Advisory

National Weather Service Issues Midwest Advisory

Silver Springs, MD - The National Weather Service (NWS) advises that the large disturbance being reported in the Midwest is not an F-5 tornado.

The NWS has determined that the giant sucking sound centered over Columbus, Ohio is actually the collective wail of the souls of deceased Buckeye fans, players, and coaches moaning, "How could you have been so stupid to be caught."

I just came in from enjoying the 92 degree weather and checked my facebook...already the haters are out in full force with their boo hoo ND ayers do this and ND players do that....liar liar vest on fire. OSU messed up so I'm still confused as to why their fans have to come down on ND? We don't even play football against them. They remind me of my kids who whine cry and throw fits all day!

Doesn't Bodog already know that OSU named the coach for next year already?

It all comes down to the NCAA. If they dont throw the book at OSU they will actually stand to benefit from this.

The sanctions have to be stiffer than USc. Have to.

If Urban actually did take that job we wouldn't see an elite player out of Ohio for God knows when. ( I don't care what bodog says I still don't think it is him)

If the NCAA doesn't throw the book at OSU, how does OSU benefit from losing a coach with a 106-22 record with 8 Championships in 10 years?

No coach in Div 1 has a better winning percentage for those 10 years than Tressel. Neither Stoops nor any other coach is going to win 2 more games per season at OSU.

Strobel, McMullen, and Odenigbo.

OSU didn't look like a major contender for Strobel and Odenigbo anyway.

I'm not trying to say Tressell was a bad coach or ever a mediocre coach. He was an excellent coach.

All I meant was that if they didn't suffer severe penalties the whole state would be reengerized and enter Urban Meyer. Let's face it, some might think he is dirty but he wouldn't have to be at OSU. He would have a pipeline in Fla and every single Ohio kid would want to go there.

They would not only dominate the Big Ten but also be able to beat SEC teams.
