Any chance we maybe get a senior from USC? Im sure they have at least1 guy we can make a call to.

Yea we don't necessarily want one of their guys for one year, we just want them to leave and go somewhere else for their last year

Can someone explain this to me?
How does SC have 30 signees... No way 15 are non-scholarship
Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 USC Commitments

They chose to bypass the sanctions this last cycle because they were in an appeal (somewhat of a loophole) and hoped that if the sanctions were overturned or shortened it would be less of a blow. Now though they will only be able to take 15 a year for the next three years.

I warned you about Pat Haden.

I told you the appeal would fail. I warned you that Haden would do whatever was in the interest of the University of Notre Dame. Ask him for yourself at the next rubber chicken event if he ever said he wished he would have gone to Notre Dame.

Can you name ONE thing that he has done since he slithered his way into the athletic director position that has benefited USC and not benefited the french whores? Let me remind you, any time a rodent like Haden publicly claims he doesn't want the job, it really means that it is his lifelong goal to obtain the position.

Can't can you. Not a damn thing. He's a wimp. He's an appeaser. he's a LOSER. How the hell he ever won anything in college is thanks ONLY to his teammates he holds in contempt. Look at his NFL career. No superior talent around him and he proved what a LOSER he really was all along.

Like I FREAKING TOLD YOU, by saying that USC would now win the right way he gave cover to the NCAA to not drop any of the sanctions. Any idea why he did that? He didn't have to. He could have chosen to defend the walls of troy. Instead he dropped his trowsers and bent over into his favorite position.

Oh and remember when I told you that NONE of the sanctions would be dropped. NOT A ONE. Any idea how I knew that?

I know Pat haden. I have argued with him about his dream that USC become another Stanford or notre dame , I told him if he liked Stanford so much , he should have gone there. I told him that if i wanted to go there , I would have gone there. I chose USC because I LOVE USC THE WAY IT IS, or more correctly was. USC at one time had true diversity. All kinds of kids from all over with different strengths , interests and talents. USC at one time WON. USC had hot woman too. I was there. I know what I saw. USC would kick the crap out of our whiney opponents on a weekly basis and laugh off their insults. WE CALLED IT CONQUEST. We didn't bend over for anyone.

It is only going to get worse. USC will lose this year and next. Excuses with fly. Bottom line is USC football is freaking DEAD for the foreseeable future.

Enjoy your Saturdays in the fall and next. Parking is going to be a breeze.

Ps. haden is a lawyer. If anything I posted wasn't true the bald headed buzzard could sue me.

USC FOOTBALL RIP. sc

SC message boards are freaking hilarious. So many people bashing Haden... when what they don't realize is that Mike Garrett's incompetence and arrogance is of equal blame with Reggie Bush for the fact that they have significant sanctions at all.

Pat Haden is the best thing they got going for them, and they hate it. What other guy would go in there and instantly command respect from other universities such as Pat Haden? The USC ppl are freaking out because Haden brings them integrity, something they havent seen since the 80's, its foreign to them.

Kiffin is just the opposite, rhetoric, grandstanding, selling USC to the world, etc, etc. that is what they are used to

Is Dan Weber a professional writer, or a fan? Does he sit at his "news desk" with his face painted maroon and gold? What an incredibly whiny, excuse-making piece of fanboy "journalism." Dude should be embarrassed.

Like ACamp said, there is no one like him. Sometimes I'll listen to their podcast (know thy enemy), and they have him on every week, and there is nobody in the history of sports like him - that's how much of a blind homer he is. I can't even begin to tell you the crazy things he says, but my favorite was this diddy:

Even before USC beefed up its compliance dept, we were close to the model in compliance, and now that the compliance dept is beefed up, the NCAA should look at USC as THE program for other programs to model after.

He says these types of things EVERY WEEK! I can't wait to tune in to next week's podcast! (They are on Mondays.)

A USC poster over on Rivals told me that with the sanctions, USC can bring in a maximum of 9 recruits this year.

You were misinformed. Nobody knows, as that seems to be a fluid number (depending on transfers, guys that suddenly went from underachievers to career-ending injuries LOL, etc.). Stay tuned on that one...

Not only is this obscenely stupid to the point of hurting my brain, but any "journalist" that uses the "we" in reference to the team that he covers should be fired on the spot. It is bad enough when fans do it....

I am amazed at the amount of trash talking about Haden. That long rant basically said one thing: "We cheated. We know we cheated. We are perfectly fine with cheating. Let us cheat more." I do not understand how someone could be upset because of punishment USC got because it was flat out guilty. I am just stunned at the arrogance.

Anyway, looks good for us.

To PLAC4ever: I believe that someone tried to explain the USC "30" last december or january. I may not get this right, but it has to do with the fact that USC was appealing the sanctions at the time so they were not in effect. Kiffin then did something "clever". Knowing that he was going to ultimately lose, he decided to max out his offers [which included some gray-shirting or via early enrollees counting against the previous class which had small numbers] in order to stock his numbers as high as possible in anticipation of slim years to come. My understanding of this is that this move was legal. His over-stocking however is felt by some to have been done in enough desperation that many of those guys are in fact more "filler" type players than USC usually holds out for.

Again, I may not have all that precisely correct, but I think this happened sort of along those lines.

...not sure but I left with the same impression..."hey what about so-and-so"...and "unprecedented"...not since SMU...

Translation...you guys are picking on us because we are SC...

well, yea...DEA prioritizes organized drug trafficing, and they hound organizations until they implode...NCAA prioritizes systemic violators, and the hound programs until they implode as well...

In USCs case...lets see there was that ONE compliance guy you had, and the multiple infractions, generally people that were trouble all around the program, and overall lack of institutional control spanning multiple programs over a DECADE...Damn right they are picking on you SC.

Reposting this here from the Max Tuerk thread:

One of ESPN's USC bloggers explains the sanctions in light of the failed appeal here.

The Trojans already have eight players committed to join next year's class, per various reports, with one -- top local lineman Max Tuerk -- giving his verbal commitment on Wednesday morning, in fact. That leaves only seven open spots for the maximum 15-player class, per NCAA-mandated restrictions that will now come into play next season and stay active until 2015.

Also beginning next season is a 75-man overall scholarship limit for the roster, which will make for even more squeezing. As of this writing, to our best guess, USC plans to have 82 players on scholarship next season, with 58 spring-roster players, 21 newcomers and one returner (receiver Brice Butler).

Only 13 of those players will exhaust their eligibility in 2011, giving USC 69 scholarship players for the 2012 season plus a new class of newcomers -- and they must somehow fit that into the 75-man limit.

And regarding this NDinLA quote:

You were misinformed. Nobody knows, as that seems to be a fluid number (depending on transfers, guys that suddenly went from underachievers to career-ending injuries LOL, etc.). Stay tuned on that one...

How aggressive can they get with transfers and gray shirts? If the ESPN blogger cited above is correct, USC only has 6 spots available for 2012 recruits currently. Can they really push up to 9 kids out the door in order to max out the 2012 class at 15?

Who is to stop them? The NCAA used all of its balls on these sanctions. Would it be unbecoming? Sure. Have we seen any evidence that USC (or the NCAA) would give a damn? I haven't.

I wasn't implying that they could be stopped, but nine seems like an awful lot to push out the door in a single year. I know this shady crap happens all the time in the SEC, but we're talking about a number that's roughly half of an average-sized full recruiting class. Surely USC would get crucified in the court of public opinion for such behavior.

And would Haden even allow it?

The arrogance is befuddling. I can't imagine how they can continue to justify the school's actions, or worse- not even bother justifying and straight up condoning them. Wow.

It isn't pushing 9 out the door, they might have 2-3 early entries, 1-2 normal transfers so you are only talking about 4-6 career ending injuries/pushed out the door to get to 15

How do gray shirts and early entries help them during this period? 2011's class of 30-31 has already put them over the 75-player hard roster cap, so 2012 early entries don't help; there's no room for them on the roster at all, let alone in 2011's monster class. Gray shirts won't help because the roster and class size caps go on for the next three years; a gray shirt in 2011 means one less recruit in 2012.

Unless I'm missing something, USC is going to have to simply strong-arm 9 scholarship kids into transferring if they want to take 15 in the 2012 class. They'll have to kick out a handful more in 2012 in order to take a full 15 in the 2013 class as well.
