I read this on the ESPN CFB Board, and a few guys are convinced the program in question with "crippling evidence of recruiting violations that will doom them" is ND. Cowherd said he already knows who it is, but can't say anything until it is officially released by SI/ESPN. Guess we will just have to wait and see, because this story is gaining steam all over the internet (not the part that some people are speculating it's ND).

Oregon or Texas

Texas is my guess, for Cowherd said it is NOT Auburn.

*I just read a thread on the ESPN General College Football Board, that's where I saw it. Those guys are just spouting that it's ND (like I said), but don't know anything we already don't. There is no credible reason to actually believe it is us, but I always hate playing the waiting game just in case.

Rumor around the II message board is either Oregon (since they went head-to-head with USC for DeAnthony Thomas) or Tennessee (pay to play scheme for Cam Newton while Kiffin was there). Cowherd said it was a rival program to USC that wasn't UCLA...

Guy's a dumbass anyway. He couldn't find his a$$hole with both hands.

Oregon, Texas, Clemson, South Carolina, Ohio State, Florida, F$U, Illinois, Georgia, Oklahoma State, LSU are all very legit possibilities... I think too many people expect the U$C, Oklahoma (because they just self-reported something), UNC (because they're already under investigation), Tenn, Auburn, Alabama, etc. don't really fit with the idea of it being a surprise.

In no way do I think it could possibly be ND.

Also, according to the one guy I know at USC, apparently there is a large number of USC players who claim they were offered money by Oregon. Then again, we all know USC is the kind of school where kids like Dillon Baxter fabricate phone calls from other schools and spread other utter lies with no integrity.

I'm curious what the impetus for people to claim it's ND is. Jealousy? Or is it that unbelievable that a clean institution with an emphasis on the STUDENT-athlete can land elite prospects and remain competitive without cheating?

Lets open up the betting! Put odds on every team and leave the SEC as "yes" or "no" lol kinda like red or black!

It has to be an SEC school or Oregon.... I just don't see how it could be anyone else.

Don't believe anything you read on an ESPN board. The posters on that site are the worst ND bashers around. Its constant bitching and whining about how ND is not relavant and its not the 80's yadda yadda yadda. During the DS tragedy they wrote some of the most vile comments I have ever seen.

You can't see Ohio State? Or Clemson? Or UNC?

The comments about it being a rival of USC are interesting and point towards Oregon... but there are more than a couple programs with a shady past couple years.

I completely agree. They are just salivating at the idea of Notre Dame being involved in a scandal. BK has way to much respect for ND and it's history to let anything shady go on (that he knows of). Also, we all know enough about our 5* mothers i.e. (Tuitt & Lynch) to ever beleive they would be involved in any shennanigans.

It's not ND. I beleive it to be Oregon or Texas, with my money on the horns. Too many huge ego boosters freakin out after a 5-7 season can be a problem.

I wouldn't suspect Ohio State since they were already slapped on the wrist for the golden panties incident. I could see Clemson or UNC, but wouldn't that almost be too obvious? Then again, I guess it was never really clear if it is suppose to be someone you would expect or not... You make a valid point.

Lets step out of reality for one brief second.
What if it was ND? How would you feel/react?

I think it is Texas Tech. They were accused of major violations early this year from the Mike Leach era. I think the NCAA found more dirt on them.

The comment He made of it being a rival of USC and not UCLA could point to ND. Who is USC’s biggest rival after UCLA?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

thats just cowherd stirring ****, he hates ND, but he loves the commotion he can start when he mentions ND.

by saying that he's letting the audience draw their own conclusion knowing damn well that they are going to think ND.
