Update: Tim Tebow had a bowl of Chili and watched ESPN First Take today.

This guy, if he was on ND the hate for him would be beyond reason. Religious, hard working, white kid, "grinder" - oh if he was on ND they would skewer him.

Lucky for him he isnt so hes America's darling. On his stand alone stats he doesnt belong in the Heisman top 5 but his legend proceeds him like the Dos Equis guy.

You know, I've been looking for a way to describe Tebow-mania, and this is hitting the nail on the head for me...

Wow I never thought about that. The SEC's hatred for this guy is epic, but if he were at ND, it'd be ten times worse than what clausen and brady quinn get

I thought so as well, especially for this game. That would give him a chance to heal up for USC.

This is awesome and if he is Number 2 now, he will win the Heisman cause they are not going to give it to someone who has already won and is putting up very pedestrian stats.

Jim Clausen

Jim Clausen

I'll bet he's not invited to NY. To say he didnt make plays against mich is really funny. Like I said before there are people on the site with more knowledge than these 'experts'.

That is just a classic quote.

The Heisman, sadly, is not presented to the Best Athlete.

It kills me that Clausen isn't being mentioned more in Heisman talks. His stats are ridiculous, he operates out of a pro-set as opposed to some gimmick offense, and he plays for a team that could easily be 4-0. Clausen didn't cost us that loss by the way, our defense did. As someone who has never been a huge fan of JC (always believed in his talent but felt he was a me-first player), I have completely changed my mind after the Purdue game. He was cheering his teammates on from the sideline and was really trying to help and motivate Crist while he was in there. Coming in at the end of the game to lead a game-winning drive puts him at the top of the heisman talk in my opinion. He was gutty, brave, and just plain tough. It's been a long time since I have said a QB from Notre Dame was tough, and this kid is just that. Could not have been more proud Saturday

Nice post! I also wasn't a Jimmy fan at 1st, but the last 8 or 9 games made me a fan!

i fully agree. JC has grown leaps and bounds since he arrived in South Bend. to watch how he is running the offense since the hawaii game is just amazing to me. to see the confidence he has in the system and himself is rubbing off on the rest of the team.

for him not to be mentioned on every heisman list is crazy. he is putting up great numbers and not making many bad mistakes. while playing with the pressure of ND nation on his shoulders every single down. if he continues to play this way the rest of the season, i see no reason he shouldn't win the trophy with the stiff arm.

In addition to Jimmy's new hype, I enjoyed this ..... (By the way, expect Rudolph to win a Mackey Award some day.)

Did anybody else see the title of this thread and think that Jimmy was moved down the depth chart?

yes...scared the piss out of me...

there was a time last year when I thought it made sense to sit him...but I'm over it...

I do not like Urban Myer and Flordia at all but Tebow is a great college quarterback and a great role model. I could not think of any college player that deserves the Heisman twice more then him. Just win...and that is what he does year after year.

His stats don't show this year like they did the year he won. He doesn't even have 700 yards passing over four games against horribly weak schools. I like Tebow, too. I think he's a much better football player than a quarterback though.
