Fellas if you want to watch that stuff I'm thinking UND.com is the only place you can...just give the video sometime to load.

Has anyone read the article on Lynch's recruitment on irishsportdaily? That just gets my blood boiling when you hear what other recruits say just to get you to there school. I would feel so insulted if a recruit told me my son or daughter would have a hard time at that school because of the academics. Just tell me my kid is stupid why don't ya. I'm happy Lynch went against what people were telling me and did what he felt was right.

Just had to vent.

I know that its premium, but who said what to Aaron to give him reason to reopen his recruiting?

His coach at his school was pushing him to look at FSU. Once he committed to ND his mom said no one is allowed to talk to him he is done. But they would still allow FSU coaches to talk to him. The FSU recruiter would say "I don't think they have early enrollment" because that's what Aaron wanted. Also, the recruiter would tell him mother that "are you sure you want him to go to ND, the academics are hard and he might have a tough time getting through admissions". Things of this nature.

Well its true about admissions being tough at ND. I suppose I don't frown upon a school that is trying to get a guy, and lists ND's admissions process as a negative towards us. I know I would push that angle if I was at another school.

It is then up to the recruit to simply ask ND if this is true. What drives me crazy is all the 'they said' stuff about other schools. If you want answers go to the coaches and ask, don't take what other people are 'telling' you as the final word!

Picked this up on DomerDomain, check out the interview with Alice Lynch at the 16 minute mark or so... some really telling statements at the 18 minute mark or so. His HS coach is total tool and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was on the take.

Listened to it. She did a great job though. Impressive. Good lord, I pray this pup and his mom can enjoy the stay at ND. Give the pup some freedom. Let him run.

Mama Lynch did a great job expressing her feelings without getting "too detailed" on exactly who and what was misbehaving as far as those trying to pull Aaron away from Notre Dame were concerned. She said just enough to give us all a good idea about that, and although she did nothing to directly accuse or intimate, that high school coach certainly seems "dirty" in the story. This interview was one more reason to admire Alice Lynch and Aaron, too.

My view might be slanted(absolutely is)

My view might be slanted(absolutely is)

but it sounded like the coach got flipped first. Then he flipped Aaron. I could never prove it, but it sounds like the coach got incentivized.

Just listened to the interview myself, all I have to say is if it smells like crap, looks like crap, there is a good chance.....

We all had the gut feeling this was going on in the fall, and then again had a feeling with the ND shirt at the Army bowl.

Every fan of every school hates on negative recruiting and assumes their coaches do not do it, but there is just too much smoke for me to think it is not common place at over 90+% of them. This is an example of one such story. Glad the good guys won out and Aaron went where he wanted. eff f$u

Thanks Alice, without your strength I doubt this would have turned out the same way.

Happy birthday, young man...and don't pay attention to any of us. It's a great world and a great life out there ahead of you, and use your gifts in a great place to develop them.

Run stopping was an issue with him.

You can say that about nearly every high school Dlineman. Go ahead and look at 1:08 on the video and notice the swim move into a run stop. This kid is a ball-hawking beast. He will prove in college that he was a 5 star recruit.

I think him not getting the 5th star is a real motivation to prove the naysayers wrong. I think he relishes proving otherwise.

^This.

I do believe he needs to stay a little lower at times. But nothing that can't/won't be corrected. He just looks to have that natural sense for the game.

I'll take an underrated recruit (underrated as a high 4 star) playing with a chip on his shoulder any day.

I understand that the kid is flawed, but there is no way that there were 25 kids better than him.

I could not care less about a fifth star... and if Aaron and Co. are as good as they are made out neither do they... this kid is in a major D1 uni now and is the prize of about 10 years worth of recruiting... that's a major honor for anyone

now it's time to deliver... I have little doubt he will.

Stars in the long run are not that impressive to me. Show me. I'd rather have a team of 3 stars that play their hearts out, over some of the elite prima donnas.

Stars are not everything. While I hate to use the term RKG, as it's getting a little tired, that's the part of recruiting that is so important. They can have all the talent in the world, but if they don't have the right attitude, they bust. Talent gets you in the door, but hard work and a mature mentality get you to the level beyond elite prospect, to elite player on the field.
