My guess is, if this kid does in fact look elsewhere, we'll have to beat out BC for his services. They closed the season out winning 5 straight and thats his home town team.

For Chickillo, Tennessee and Florida State are going to be his early leaders. He was looking into Tennessee prior to Randy Shannon getting fired.

How much interest was he showing in ND before he committed to Miami?

I think we have a better shot at him than Chickillo...

"Miami's lone out-of-state commitment is four-star CB Albert Louis-Jean from Brockton (Mass.) High School, who said one of the big reasons he selected the Hurricanes over offers from Notre Dame, Penn State, Boston College and many others was because of the relationship he had with Shannon.

"It was good," Louis-Jean said in an e-mail. "He was the head coach of the school I committed to. That alone was a big thing. He told me they would take care of me and look out for me."

Whether he stays with the Canes or not remains to be seen.

"I just [don't] know," he said. "We'll see.""

Maybe we play the academic card the hardest like we did with Nix? Shannon really changed around that Miami program and he was getting his players diplomas. I like that.

i think he is an EE so we will have to get in his ear quick. Him and his dad are very upset about the firing according to reports

The Miami situation shows how having a really good person as the head coach doesn't mean squat. Shannon was/is a good moral man in his prime principles. What are the chances that this historically low principled program will bring in another person of Shannon's character?? I'd guess zero. These Miami recruits should go elsewhere whether it's to ND or not.

I couldn't agree more with you. Coach Shannon was a great coach down there and was trying to turn that program around the right way. It's hard to fine a coach of his character, morals and principles. I personally feel that Miami made a big mistake by letting him go. If I were a recruit that committed to Miami, I would immediately start looking elsewhere as well. I'm sure most of these kids signed with Miami because of him alone.

I know the kid personally...I think it would be tough to get him period.

Like I have said before he has several good friends on the BC roster, and would have opportunities to play right away close to home. That is if he decommits from Miami, which I also think is doubtful.

If it's Miami or BC... I hope he stays at Miami.

He didn't get fired because of his good character. He simply didn't win enough, and apparently that's all that matters to Miami.

Easy man, that cuts both ways.

ND isn't afraid of firing 'good guys' before their contracts are up if they aint winning.

Loved how the argument Mark May made in favor of keeping Shannon was the exact same one he and countless others made against Weis.

Back to Louis-Jean, I would hate to see him go to Boston College. I despise BC, but they would turn him into a stud. Player developement is what they're all about, he would be a shutdown corner for them in a couple years.

I dont see it on ISD. In the end, I dont think the kid laves Miami but if he does then BC and Penn St would be the teams to beat.

This was actually the reason given for firing Willingham.

i.e., Administration liked him and thought he was a good character guy, but he didn't win enough on Saturday.
