People need to stop reading the name on the jersey and realize IU is for real. I said it all over this thread and nobody believed me. Cig is going to have that team so fired up for redemption against us in the Rose Bowl, it’s not even funny
They aren’t 2012 Alabama.

Legit the only worries I have with playing IU is their d line and Mendoza’s accuracy bailing them out on third downs.

I said whoever gets them first will get their best shot. Playing up leads to playing down the next week (BC 1993 - exhibit A). I think they are good but would still rather have them than OSU. We probably have to go through both from the looks of things.

About to take the wife and daughter out for breakfast and get a tree after, decked in ND gear. Remind these cousin-fucking Garnet and Gold fans wtf a real team is.

Just in time to get back and see ND's CFP ticket get punched.

Everyone I’ve talked that was at that game said the atmosphere was great. Probably the game I regret the most not attending.
It really was. I’ve been averaging two games for the past 30 years and Inja e never felt the energy like that

Can someone explain the odds. Is a higher negative number good? I have never bet money on anything. Lol
In simple terms, when it's negative that's how much you need to bet to win 100. When it's positive that's how much you win if you bet a 100.

On FD Irish are -1500 which means you have to bet 1500 to win 100.

You know what I’ve been thinking about, in years past when the cut line involved a high power rated SEC team, I felt like Kirk Herbstreit would always distance from the resumes and emphasize it’s the best teams.

Wonder why he hasn’t been singing that tune this year

Going to have to wait until the bracket comes out online. Watching ESPN is going to piss me off all day listening to them push their SEC/Miami agenda.

ESPN has the biggest microphone by far but you know more than half the committee hate the SEC as much as us, worse as they are threatened by them. SEC has preached “eye test” for decades to excuse all kinds of crap.

I’m betting on cooler heads prevailing (savvy Jack types). Non-SEC/B1G committee folks will see tremendous value in ACC over SEC and the results back it up.

Money and math point to Miami over Bama. SEC will trade for favorable matchups/locations for their remaining teams. Art of the Deal.

If the committee actually watches the games like we've seen/heard, Bama should be out. If that game were not a CCG, they could drop by 5 or something. The game was not competitive. To drop out (to 11) they only need to drop 2 spots. So in that scenario, the committee would still be putting less weight on a CCG loss than a regular season loss. To not take account of the loss -and the manner of the loss- would be bizarre. But moving Bama up last week was bizarre, too.

And if Duke winning means Miami gets in over ND, as a gesture toward the ACC, it's absolutely time to leave the conference. Our association is actively harming ND athletics.
If they watched the games, Notre Dame and Miami would both be ahead of Oklahoma.

They don't watch the games.

The long con is that they actually WANT outrage. There's an argument that the Miami hype has been about creating a deliberate letdown moment to really piss off a bunch of people when Miami gets left out. This builds momentum for playoff expansion.

We are going to have to beat Oklahoma, then IU, then Texas Tech, then Ohio State. It’s not a bad path at all.

Honestly, I am mostly happy about getting OSU last instead of the Rose Bowl. I think we can beat them finally, but that monkey-off-the-back feeling can lead to a letdown when you still have two more games left. Getting them last instead helps that problem out.

The situation is kinda the fault of the conferences and their tiebreaker rules. In the future, maybe they should stipulate the conference championship game should be between the 2 highest ranked conference teams in the playoff rankings. In that case Miami would have been in the championship with a achance to prove their case and it would have been Ga/ole miss in the sec.
But that would eliminate head to head. Why do we even play the games?

ND is also +800 to win the National Championship

Alabama is +3300 and Miami +6500

These are the odds we should actually be looking at.

The fact Bama is 33-1, despite their struggles, is a pretty smoking gun their back is squarely against the wall and might not get in.

What’s also insane is we are 8-1, and still in “wait and see” mode.

Wouldn’t be shocked if we go to 6.5-1 after punching our ticket

Watching the "Championship Drive" right now. From the horse's mouth, "it's the best teams; not the best resume." Hilarious how this changes with every ticking moment.

I think most of them think Alabama should be out though with ND and Miami in. Pointing out how Alabama has been "leaking oil" down the stretch.

Hell, last week they said they moved Alabama above ND because they "established the run game against their rival"; well, this week they rushed for -3 yards. Kick them off the tour, Doug!

How can Herbie campaign about who should and shouldn’t make the playoffs, but he can’t give a prediction for a game he’s going to broadcast because he has to appear impartial?

I was gonna say nobody wants to watch UGA Alabama part 3, but Bama wouldn't beat A&M
