I'll def be at this one. I'll never forget visiting friends at Pitt for the 2015 game and sitting in the student section with them. Was openly rooting for ND and not one person gave me a single ounce of shit. Embarassing fanbase.

I’m thinking about heading down for this one since I don’t think a home game is in the cards this year. Hopefully better than the game in 2013

Any predictions on a gametime? This has 12ET written all over it. Still debating on snagging tickets, just not sure how the whole Pitt experience is.

You will run into a handful of die-hards that will say something stupid but then the other 98% of people there will be ND fans or Pitt people who really don't' give a rat's ass about the team, the outcome and probably could not even name their starting QB. Pitt is irrelevant and most in the area know it but may go to a game that ND is playing in just to say that they were at the ND game.

When Pitt was decent to good, they were a rowdy bunch and not the best fans to be around. This game, you will be able to seat jump by halftime and most will have left for the bars.

My wife and I spent a few days last year in Pittsburgh:

Couple breweries in the area have great beer and good food. Cinderlands, Old Thunder, Dancing Gnome to name a few. The Strip District in general is a neat place to walk around, find a bar, grab food somewhere.

The Speakeasy in Downtown had a really jazz band one night. We did the Duquesne Incline, and the Steel Mill Saloon on top was a nice place for a beer.

Visited Pittsburgh pre-Covid. Had a great time but would like to go in the summer and catch a Pirates game. What a beautiful stadium. Really cool city IMO. Gotta think even the worst Pitt fans are better than Philly fans.

We went to a Pirates game while there. Cost me $42 a ticket to sit 8 rows up on the 1st base side. Great stadium

Went to a couple Pirate games against the Red Sox a couple years ago. We sat 3rd baseline both nights for $25 with a $12 drink voucher. Great stadium, Pirates ownership is fumbling majorly

I hate that for the fans. I’m sure the new stadium was taxpayer funded & that the ownership is refusing to invest any revenue share back into the team. One of the original franchises just being used as an amusement park.

Went to the ‘13 Tuitt ejection game. I’m not a shit talker or rabble rouser, I cheer when ND does good, and give kudos when the opposition makes good plays, overall an ideal visiting team fan

I had 4 guys a couple rows back that just gave it to me from the time I showed up just because I was wearing green. The only thing I ever said to them was right after the long TJ Jones td they were STILL giving it to me and I said ‘sorry I can’t hear you over our two TD lead’

I then proceeded to get pulled out of my seat by the cops, accused of cussing at these guys and talking shit to everyone in the section. They went and falsely reported me. Luckily the very nice season ticket holders I sat next to stuck up for me and I got to stay (wish they had kicked me out if I knew how that game would end)

ND blows it, they’re just relentless as we go to leave, there’s a 10 year old and his dad sitting a few seats down from us, as we walk past the kid says to me ‘get the fuck out of Pittsburgh!’. I look at the dad dumbfounded and he says to me ‘you heard him!’

I get out to the steps and I can’t even remember what my final straw was but the dudes behind us said something to me that made me start up the stairs towards them, and luckily for me, my buddy was just strong enough to grab me by the back of my shirt and drag me into the concourse or else this would have ended up being a story about how I got jumped at Heinz in the fall of 2013

3/10 would not recommend. Primantis sucks ass too

Go to PNC in the summer for a baseball game instead

Edit to say if it ends up being a nooner you’ll probably be fine

Downtown by the stadium is a blast. I can imagine it is a ton of fun on Sunday's before a Steelers game.

Actually thought about going to this one, but not sure schedule will allow it.

I want to say you told me this story at a tailgate, but I might have been intoxicated and forgot about it. This is absolutely stunning though, don't think I'll be checking out Heinz Field anytime soon.

On a related note, the worst fan experience I ever had was on the reverse side of Pittsburgh. I was at a Bengals vs. Steelers playoff game in Cincinnati. I was there as a fan of the Bus, wasn't so much a Pitt fan (Although Bill Cowher's best friend who used to stand behind him at all the away games got us the tickets). As soon as I got there they were handing out towels for the playoff game, and the sign said the towels were free to all fans. I wasn't going to take one, but we had friends that were Cinci fans and I was encouraged to grab one for them. As soon as I did I got smacked in the back of head "Why don't you leave those for Bengals fans?!"

I got cussed at a few times for wearing my Bus jersey, and I got shoulder checked a few times walking through the concourse...and that was BEFORE Carson Palmer went down with the knee injury. Needless to say we got the fuck out of there as soon as the game was basically over. I zipped my coat up to hide my jersey after Palmer went down. That place got ugly, I won't go back to Cinci wearing any kind of opposing team colors.
